j0ekerr: That's odd, because the wattage consumption is what causes most of the heating in an electrical cable, and even with the biggest baddest monster of a graphic card, it should be well below the energy consumption of your average toaster.

Well, except for a crossfire twin graphic card setup.
Hmm. I need to bite the bullet and get ahold of an actual electrician.
