IAmSinistar: It's grim and rainy here today, so in answer to ddickinson's other animal-of-the-day question, my fish self today is Sturgeon. Please don't tell the caviar people where I am.
Too late. I know where you live.

IAmSinistar: Isn't he adorable? They are so cute in the way they move, too. They are especially darling in the snow. Their arrival means that Winter has truly settled in. I'm glad you like them, and happy I could introduce you to them.
I didn't see it moving, but it's still already very cute.

ddickinson: That's a very lovely bird. I guess I should pick a more original bird, I usually stick with Robin when I am happy as there is one in my garden most mornings just hopping around all happy and looking so nice with the big red breast. No snow here yet, thought when there is the Owls looks just wonderful in the snow.
Robins are so cute too...
What kind of owl do you have ? Lucky you. I don't have any bird in my garden... too much "city" for them, I guess. Sometimes a magpie. Or pigeons :-( ...

I have seen several over the years, we have lots of different birds throughout the year. We have some resident Barn Owls that I see all the time, but there are also many more that live or visit nearby. These include the Tawny Owl, Long and Short Eared Owl, and a few others that I can't quite remember right now. I have never seen a Viking Owl though. :-)
Thanks all for the replies and your virtual pats on my back :)

glad to hear you are happy and well... :)
Thank you for remembering me - it made me feel very important. Good to see some old and new forum members on here.

LaPtiteBete: ...
That's good news !!
I regret I googled "pigdog" >__< Curiosity killed the cat...
Haha! I know there are some interpretations that a Pigdog refers to an unbelievably ugly person. I won't say whether I am such a person but I can safely state on record that my username is my dog, Chester, who literally snorts as well as barks!

Treasure: @adaliabooks: You're right! I don't like samey/repetitive stuff and the DLC tactic is somewhat offputting too-I was probably under the influence of the manga style but I'll fight it off by playing some Jeanne D' Arc (as I already mentioned). Thank you for your advice/reminder as well !

All in all, thanks to your help, I did it! I managed not to buy these games for the moment and I'll probably manage to hold strong by playing stuff I own in the genres the aforementioned games are. Thanks again everyone! :D
Glad to be of service :)
That Jeanne D' Arc game looks good. I wish more games like that came out over here :(
I have to start buying games for my 3DS again, when I have money.

pigdog: I'm a happy pigdog today!

I've been disputing an (incorrect) invoice for a significant amount of £'s since September with the mobile giant that is Vodafone. They even handed my records to a debt collection agency who threatened to file a default against my credit rating.

To cut a long story short, I have finally managed to have the debt written off and my credit rating remains unaffected.

It's a massive relief and I'm also quite proud that I saw this through when there were times when I felt like just giving up and paying the debt off.
Well done, I know how difficult dealing with companies can be, I used to work for the debt department in a Citizens Advice Bureau. Good job on sorting it out!

ddickinson: My mother is doing quite well, thank you. She has been moved out of the intensive care ward and into a high observation ward. The plus side to this is that she has some company as there are other patients there. She has not recovered as much or as quickly as the doctors had hoped, but she is making small steps. They think that in another few weeks she should be able to go home, but then it will still be a while before she is better.
That sounds quite encouraging. Hope she'll be out of high observation really soon now.

EndreWhiteMane: Hi everyone, sounds like everyone is OK today, that's good to hear.;-)
I'm just getting awake and having my first coffee but so far so good here too.
And yes, my 'procedure' is bright and early tomorrow morning.
Best of luck for tomorrow. :-)

BTW, was the mystery of the extra meds solved?

IAmSinistar: Good morning ddickinson! Glad to hear you are a happy bird today. I think today I am a Junco, since I finally got to see the adorable little snowbirds over the weekend (they are arriving late this year to my region, due to the late cold weather).

[...]
Ah, it's so cute, I want one, or two! :-)

The only sparrows I've seen so far here, are unfortunately at the cemetery, probably because it's colder out there, and because of the offerings to the dead that people make.

And good day to everyone from my cold and windy city! To distract me for the howling wind, I'm having a couple of Lebkuchen.

HypersomniacLive: That sounds quite encouraging. Hope she'll be out of high observation really soon now.
Thank you. They are hoping that by then end of the week she might be well enough for a general ward, then a few more weeks there and then home for a few months of recovery.

It's been quite windy here as well, cold and wet too. I have never heard of a Lebkuchen, but Wikipedia says they are a bit like gingerbread, and I have some of them waiting for me at home. :-)

I hope you are doing okay?

I missed this earlier, sorry. I hope everything goes perfectly at your procedure and you leave there a much happier woman. I hear these sex-change operations can be bothersome, but stay strong and you will be fine. ;-)

But seriously, I wish you all the best and will be thinking of you tomorrow. I'm glad it's just a day stay operation and not something long term, but I hope everything goes great and we can have you back here chasing us off your lawn just like before.

*BIG HUG!*

My brother had some great birds in his yard over Christmas. I took a lot of photos. One bird, a Pine Warbler, was doing a lot of posing. I don't get to see them very often, so it was an extra treat for me. I'm attaching one of his glamour shots.

Leave it to the Germans to give a tasty snack such a dour name. ;)

That is one sexy-ass bird! Nice photo.

Mystery waiting for a call from the doctor, whose office is , of course, closed on Monday.

It's a minor operation since all I want is the longer eyelashes. ;)

Hey, everyone. Good morning/afternoon. =)

Hopefully everyone's having a decent day at the very least.

Looking at a game entry, and on the side it's got the "people who bought this also bought...." recommendations thing, and I already have all of them. So I clicked it again for more recommendations. Turns out I have all of those too. So I started clicking it more, and on the eighth click it finally got to a game that I don't have yet.

It'd be more honest if by the third or fourth click, the screen would just change to say, "Look. You probably haven't even begun to play what you have, let alone finish all of them. Close this page, stop buying stuff for now and actually play what you own!"

Hi, Endre. I wasn't sure when it was. I had a 'procedure' myself a while before Christmas, and I was pleased to find the word a lot more ominous than the reality. Hope you're in and out fast and boiling up a fresh coffee before you know it.

It's even worse when you look at the GOGMixes and have all those too. ;)

Oh gods, I hadn't thought of that....-laughs-
Screw it. I will look on the bright side. Once I get the garbage on my plate out of the way, I have more than a few really, truly good games to look forward to. =)

Hi General! Yeah, should be a minor thing and I should be back here by tomorrow afternoon.
"Procedure" just means they probably don't need a scalpel. :/
