Stilton: I really wouldn't use them if you can help it. Any outfit with a risk factor that high is worth avoiding. In hindsight I should've just gone down to the post office. I'm putting it down to experience.
avatar
adaliabooks: I'd stick it to them. You should be able to get a copy of the signature provided by the delivery company, and if you can prove it's not your mother's I'm sure they would have to at least compensate you.
Plus it can be quite fun :)
Tomorrow the first stages of 'The Sticking' will commence!

Thanks for the prod ;-)

EndreWhiteMane: It is interesting, and could work out quite well for GOG, and us.
GOG and CDPR are also the ones to put up the codes to extend the The Bards Tale IV kickstarter freebies for another 24 hours.
Our baby's growing up. :-)
avatar
CarrionCrow: That move makes sense. For every person who looks at the page and grabs some freebies, it's another person who might not have heard of or done business with GOG before. Really good advertising.

Also, that move helps to solidify their relationship with inXile since it's helping to bring more people to the Kickstarter for their next game.
No complaints whatsoever about a dedicated high-end RPG company being close with GOG.
I wholeheartedly agree. And it takes little of GOG's time and other resources, Something they're starting to spread a bit thin.
Hello again, farm girl!

avatar
ddickinson: But is that a good thing or a bad thing? It seems GOG is set on becoming more and more like Steam.
I'd say it leans towards the bad thing side. GOG support will be overwhelmed, they can't manage without heavily prioritising as it is, and if they don't do something about it, discontent will increase with everything that that brings.

On an unrelated note - this slow paced sales somehow manage to get me more tired. Anyone else?

No problem, I used to work for the Citizen's Advice Bureau... it's kind of stuck with me ;)

Soccorro: Wow...that is so...romantic! :D

Marry her!

Who said that!?
We are already engaged. :-)

avatar
CarrionCrow: Yes, it is.

There are quite a few at the moment, and it's shifting a bit as items show up, based on their level of discount.

Very happy to hear it. Downtime after working so hard is good. =)
I think that even if some of the games on my wishlist goes on sale I will pass. I only really got that list to make people happy as they kept bugging me to get a wishlist. :-)

Downtime has been nice, especially after working my long hours these last few weeks. I am actually off work tomorrow, my brothers surprised me with that fact this morning. They will cover my workload so I can just spend the day with my partner. Which is very sweet of them.
avatar
CarrionCrow: What's coming to mind for what you mentioned is either a mage/decker combo or a shaman/rigger.
I mention those because a decker/shaman isn't going to have a lot of punch. It's a double support character.
A mage/rigger would be a double attack character, so you'll have to keep people juicing you up with extra AP to make the most of it.

You're not the only one who goes for sales with more speed to them.
But I guess we're in the minority, since the time got stretched out further than it was for the end of the year sales, and the amount of calling the timer a rotten sack of shit got pretty heavy by the end.

That's good. So long as you're happy with it and making money, that's the important stuff.
avatar
adaliabooks: Hmm, see I figured that Shaman and Rigger would be quite similar supporty type roles hence that pairing. Thanks for the advice, I'll keep it in mind. While we're talking about it, is there anywhere you'd recommend to get extra campaigns? I can see this being a game I spend some time with.

I don't even think it's the speed as much as something interesting. I quite liked the random game sales, despite not having enough money at the time to afford to risk it. Things just being discounted is ok, and I might buy some stuff if anything I really want comes up, but I need a bit of a thrill to it as well...

I can honestly say there is nothing I would rather be doing. Wouldn't go back to working in an office for anything...
Unfortunately, I'm not very good with game add-ons. I usually don't use them, so I don't have a selection of places to check out. I know they're around, though. Have seen bits of different ones being mentioned while looking for game info.
Also, it's good that you're enjoying the series so much, since Shadowrun Hong Kong is supposed to be coming out within the next few months. Looking forward to that one quite a bit.

To me, the speed provides the extra level of interest, especially the potential of losing out if you're not fast enough.
Adds that extra nudge of motivation.

Good. =)

FearfulSymmetry: On the one hand I really like flash/insomnia sales, but on the other hand sales like these are kind of relaxing. I'm thinking about maybe getting the LucasArts bundle but I'm not sure because I don't know if I really like all those games. Recommendations?

Also, I totally recommend Jade Empire! It's the game that brought me here and it's one of my favourites.
avatar
ddickinson: I have the LA bundle (except for one game, so if you only are after a few, let me know. :-)

Also, good afternoon, Fearful! I hope you are doing well!
I'm sure,my wishlist is a secret:-)

I'm trying to fasten up the countdown by running around. Only a little bit more training and i will be able to reach near lightspeed and travel into the future :3

ddickinson: Good evening!

I see you picked up a few games. Are you hoping for any game in particular to come on sale?

I am doing great, thank you. My evening was awesome. :-)
Yup. Took me some time to decide but had a few on my list :)
I'm still hoping for Divinity Original Sin....as Wasteland 2is now covered ;)
Glad to hear that you're doing great :D

Hello, Mr Hyper! *respectful wave*

I wonder why GOG does not hire more support staff given all the new customers. Surly they can't expect to provide the same level of service without investing in their customer service.

I preferred the whole flash sale layout, but someone said this sale is more like Steams sale, so I guess that is what GOG was going for.
avatar
EndreWhiteMane: I wholeheartedly agree. And it takes little of GOG's time and other resources, Something they're starting to spread a bit thin.
Hoping that they can get the California office off the ground relatively quickly. Once they can start routing some of the issues through a second team, things should start flowing better, rather than the one group in Poland getting their teeth kicked in with the workload endlessly.

You're not the only one. Started getting a bit sluggish, started talking more to wake my brain back up.
Wouldn't do to doze off and not update the thread I started on the first day of the sale. It'd be bad form.

gunsynd: I'm sure,my wishlist is a secret:-)
You're Australian, a few beers and you will tell us everything, including the contents of your wishlist. :-)

Did you get Wasteland 2 from the kickstarter thing? I wonder if Divinity Original Sin will make an appearance. What kind of % discount are you hoping for?
Oh,morning all.Back to the sale.
