Good evening, everyone!

How are you all doing on this wonderful evening?

adaliabooks: That's good, while new options might be nice I think by the time I'm done with this one I'll have decided what I want to go with for the next one (I'm thinking either Decker / Shaman or Mage / Rigger at the moment. Probably the first as I've kind of veered off into a mage with this character)

It has good reviews and I seem to remember people comparing Sokobond (and I enjoyed that) to it when that came out, so might as well give it a try.

Unfortunately for GoG I think I'm much more willing to spend money when they throw something interesting at us rather than a straight up sale (I'm clearly very easily swayed by cheap gimmicks...)

Of course not ;)

I'm fine. Had a hell of a few weeks with work (and a concert in the middle) but it's done and things are quieter now. It's taken a day just to remember what it's like to have time off... XD
But it was worth while so I'm not complaining :)
What's coming to mind for what you mentioned is either a mage/decker combo or a shaman/rigger.
I mention those because a decker/shaman isn't going to have a lot of punch. It's a double support character.
A mage/rigger would be a double attack character, so you'll have to keep people juicing you up with extra AP to make the most of it.

You're not the only one who goes for sales with more speed to them.
But I guess we're in the minority, since the time got stretched out further than it was for the end of the year sales, and the amount of calling the timer a rotten sack of shit got pretty heavy by the end.

That's good. So long as you're happy with it and making money, that's the important stuff.

Stilton: They go by the name of Yodel, so if anyone in the UK wants to pay good money to throw their property away pointlessly they're the right humanoid entities for the job.
avatar
adaliabooks: I haven't had too bad experiences with them in the past, but have heard a lot of the horror stories. They do Amazon's deliveries these days (and have for a few years) and are apparently pretty awful. That being said, I've not heard much better of most other couriers either... :/
I really wouldn't use them if you can help it. Any outfit with a risk factor that high is worth avoiding. In hindsight I should've just gone down to the post office. I'm putting it down to experience.

Stilton: Things in general are good. A variety of ups, lesser ups and moderate (but recoverable) downs. Overall I've got enough to feel happy about. I'm glad the business is keeping you occupied - hopefully you're growing (as a company - not physically) and finding more places to sell/money to make.
That doesn't sound too bad :)

Yeah, business is definitely growing which is great. It looks like we might even hit some of the figures we promised to the bank in our business plan, and I thought I'd just pulled most of that out of my ass... XD
Downside being that I have less free time to program or write, but I'm still working away on stuff in my head in the hopes of turning it into something eventually..
I have also been working on this side project though, for the betterment of us GoGers ;)

GOG has (kinda) gotten into the early access business.

Hmm, see I figured that Shaman and Rigger would be quite similar supporty type roles hence that pairing. Thanks for the advice, I'll keep it in mind. While we're talking about it, is there anywhere you'd recommend to get extra campaigns? I can see this being a game I spend some time with.

I don't even think it's the speed as much as something interesting. I quite liked the random game sales, despite not having enough money at the time to afford to risk it. Things just being discounted is ok, and I might buy some stuff if anything I really want comes up, but I need a bit of a thrill to it as well...

I can honestly say there is nothing I would rather be doing. Wouldn't go back to working in an office for anything...

But is that a good thing or a bad thing? It seems GOG is set on becoming more and more like Steam.

BillyMaysFan59: How's everyone this afternoon? Came back from a nice bike ride :)
Can't complain here, just waiting for the deal switch and downloading Act of War at the moment.

I'd stick it to them. You should be able to get a copy of the signature provided by the delivery company, and if you can prove it's not your mother's I'm sure they would have to at least compensate you.
Plus it can be quite fun :)

That looks like an excellent idea. A way of finding something by name instead of trawling through pages by hand would be really useful.

I don't know, to me it looks likes they're trying to get more into Kickstarter and being an alternative redemption option there than doing early access. I suppose if you back a game and get access to the Beta you might as well have it from here then have to get it from Steam.
avatar
adaliabooks: Fine thank you :)
Can't say how it is in the end... I haven't gotten there yet. The whole game is a bit samey and I kind of dropped it when I hit a huge difficulty spike which I couldn't quite surmount. Plus Tom had gifted me SW Rebellion and I played quite a bit of that (and Crow gave me Jedi Knight, and I played a bit of that too) and I haven't been bothered to get back to it... I'll probably do so eventually, as I would like to know how the story ends (which is undoubtedly the most interesting thing about the game)
I had similar issues with the game that why i was asking if it would be worth to pick it up again :).
And i like your search :)
avatar
Stilton: My feeling is they either 'delivered' it by one of the above methods and someone picked it up, or one of their tremendously conscientious delivery entities liked the size/weight of the parcel and decided it could be profitable.

And as far as I know, it unfortunately is too much to hope for that they're being shat on from a great height. Their time will come, and at least in the meantime their turd-like behaviour is preventing them from letting even more people down, via word of mouth and online forum.

Lets settle at 98-99 percent. Agreed?
Not a problem, I'm flexible when it comes to contempt.

Sorry about the typewriter as well, of course. Such garbage. It's not hard to give people packages. It really isn't.
Sounds like a cesspool of incompetence and outright criminality.

Right now I would say probably not. I'm tempted to just read how the story ends, or even get some cheats or something to just breeze through the rest of it because the gameplay is not fun..
But I've been distracted by far more enjoyable games, so whatever I do it probably won't be soon.

Thank you :)

Good evening. =)

Doing all right, waiting with fingers crossed that some high priority items show up in the next round of individual game deals.

How's your evening going?

Hadn't seen it, but the concept looks interesting.

That game release is going to be huge, and GOG's working with the team to get as much traffic from it here as possible.
Glanced at the other thread and some people are already freaking out, but a closed beta for backers is a bit different from a public "throw money at us while our game's still broken, maybe it'll get done someday, maybe you'll all get screwed" display like the competition has no problem doing.
