Also, I just looked, and I'm thinking I'll want to get my hands on the Bard's Tale 1-3 novellas that they're putting out, in case I don't chew through the first three before it shows up, and that isn't a part of the 55 dollar tier.
That one is a straight bare bones offer of the two games, and that's it.

Damn it, I want to start up Wasteland 2, but it bugs the crap out of me that I haven't gone through the first one.
Problem is, the interface for the first is all kinds of archaic and pretty frigging user-unfriendly.
Yep, but since me and my coin are difficult to part with to the point that some people have questioned me about wether there ever were jewish scotsmen in my ancestry, I'll stick to the 20$ pledge.

Turns out I was in a excessive hurry because I couldn't even imagine the possibility of the kickstarter falling short of its goal. But Eit reminded me that the code can't be given before the kickstarter campaign is over. I'ts INCONCEIVABLE!

It's one that's strictly for Guacamelee, I got a code for it after I bought the original and they put out the upgrade.
They put it out for people who already had it to minimize customer anger at the prospect of paying full price for that upgrade.

Same thing happened with Strike Suit Zero when they put out the Director's Cut version.

I'd say take a pass on playing the first one. And if you've held off playing the second this long, I'd say wait a bit longer. I saw a thread here not too long ago about the devs upgrading the engine, adding some stuff in and releasing a "Final Cut / Remaster / Super Ultra Duper Version." If I remember correctly, sometime mid/late summer (assuming all goes to plan I suppose).

The way I'm doing stuff, I'm not really giving myself that option, even if the game is total crap.
I don't think Wasteland 1 will be that way, it's just going to take a while to figure out the interface.

That makes me want to clear it fully before the new version comes out, so I can see the differences better.
