BillyMaysFan59: In Dark Forces 2 you can switch from first to third person view.

(use F1 by default)
But it doesn't switch automatically then...

avatar
tinyE: I'm pretty sure 2 is all 1st person. I need 3rd person to use the sabre, but like I said, it's kind of a useless weapon in DF 2, at least for me.
Sounds reasonable i also need the third-person for the lightsaber otherwise i cannot use it properly.
Arrrgh, there's hyping in the forums about GOG's summer sale again! >_<

BTW when that starts I'll have to re-use this Song of the Day, which was already used a few weeks ago:

Good Evening. So you have some games of the current promo on your wishlist?
Well, hell. It took more than a day or two, but it's finally taco night and Crew isn't around...

Good morning / evening, Crow. Haven't read your earlier posts, but you've most definitely lost me with that one. All I can say is ?

avatar
tinyE: XD They deleted his post completely. That works if for no other reason then I don't want someone new here to think that is typical of the forum.
avatar
toxicTom: If it was deleted then I think because enough users hit the "spam" button which is by many used as an exclamation mark to the normal downvoting. Judas may have done it too, but I don't think he would remove an "I hereby proof I'm an asshole" post, why should he?
I gave up reading that thread after I saw Crow's post, couldn't think of anything that could top that.
Can't understand why people keep responding and letting the attention junkie get his fix.

Even Judas' intervention didn't stop him. Perhaps he didn't realise what a blue post meant, or more likely, didn't care...

Judas is away now, so another blue must be monitoring the thread now. Waste of their time, when they could be fixing broken stuff. But I suppose the ones who do the forum monitoring are not the tech blues.

Good morning. =)

Someone else in the thread mentioned having tacos a couple weeks ago, I think, and I said those sounded good and would have them soon.
Ended up having them tonight, though, so I was a bit late on that estimate.

That's the internet for you. People like to fight and argue. -laughs-

How are you doing today?

I'm doing well, thank you. I remembered the tacos post, but didn't know who Crew was. Perhaps your room mates?
If they're not around, all the more for you. ;-)

Yes, true, people do love to spend hours arguing with someone else whose viewpoint is set in stone.
Big waste of time they could be spending playing games. The only people who benefit from all this are the game developers, who are laughing all the way to the bank.

All that fighting reminds me of a quote from Terry Pratchett:
'......and the funny thing was that people who weren't entirely certain they were right always argued much louder than other people, as if the main person they were trying to convince were themselves.'

The person's full name is Crewdroog. She talks in the thread every once in a while.

Ended up making the tacos for myself and the roommates, so I couldn't really cut them out and keep them all.

I'm engaging in it at the moment since I'm primarily focused on getting all my stuff backed up. Between that and impatience for the big sale, I haven't been playing games at length since I cleared the three Icewind games.

They won't be making money off of me. The last game I got at launch was Hotline Miami 2, only to be extremely disappointed in it overall. Based off that alone, I wouldn't be getting it at launch.

It's one of those things where some people aren't going to change their position no matter what.

For me, it's an easy excuse, and I'm self-aware enough to recognize it. I enjoy being a smartass, or being mean, or being nasty, depending on the mood and the moment, so when someone pops up that's doing such things to people who don't deserve it, it gives me a guilt-free outlet.

Is your weekend going well so far?

ZenWan: Here's the one from @HyperSomniac, it has ridiculously few signatures, perhaps you can drum up some support for it?

IAmSinistar: Thanks, voted up. I added some requests back when Galaxy first went public as well, regarding the chat. You can view them here:

Chat: Show who is typing
Chat: Active notification of a message
Chat: Flash icon/titlebar of chat client when message arrives in background

But these are niceties compared to the very basic changes they really need to make first.

PS - Nice to see you too! :)
Hi again, all voted up. They don't seem to be fixing much or making any changes to Galaxy, despite the criticism. I guess they're too busy with this Hatred waste of time stuff. :-(

avatar
toxicTom: Upvoted all four.
Hi Tom, I was sure that you had a good wishlist post about this as well, but I couldn't find it when I was searching. Could you post a link?

Sorry to read about your troubles, hoping for calm and healing for you and your family.

Ah, I'm with you, sorry to be obtuse. Hope the tacos were good. :-)

I could see why you were there - to defend a friend, and skewer an idiot. That's a pretty good reason, especially if you're killing time waiting for your slow downloads. But at least one of them really seem to believe the stuff they keep spouting, over and over and over..

Incidentally, I was mighty impressed that even in mid rant, you still managed to keep the grammatical structure of your sentences intact, no matter how complex they became. It's not easy to attack and think about sentence structure at the same time, that takes a lot of practise, and a good mind. <laughing> I fear that was wasted on your opponent, though.

I read a lot of Art of War, so these sorts of struggles are interesting for me to observe, in a detached way, while I kill time sorting out my hard drives. :-)

Weekend is ok, hot of course, and a bit frustrating, but I'm getting things back on track. How about you?

GOG's not getting involved in the garbage in either the threads or the wishlist entry, I'm sure.
They have infinitely larger fish to fry than burning time reading people complain or act entitled while concocting scenarios for why a certain game isn't on the service.

You aren't obtuse, you're playing catch-up by the looks of it. Slight difference there.

You'll see that with people that aren't packing anything to actually add to the conversation.
They have one tactic, and they'll keep using it.

Hopefully you're getting the hard drive thing sorted with a bare minimum of frustration.
Tech support is always a miserable job.

Can't complain too much here, just picking away at my distractions and diversions, waiting for a sale to show up so I can buy more games I don't need for that transitory feeling of, "Well, at least I got them on sale, even if I don't play them until 2017." -laughs-

Between GOG updating the system so I can now see every order I've ever placed and downloading all my games again, there's no way I can even begin to say I'm somehow needing more items. It's already insane as it is.

moonshineshadow: *big hug* I really wish I could share some pics, but the wifi here is not able to upload anything... perhaps I'll have better luck at the next camping (in three days) :D
Hi again, Moon, a big Zenhug for you. Hope you are still having a lot of fun. Don't stress about the pics, they can wait until your return. Just enjoy the cakes!
Hmm.... just saw your post in the Hatred thread, Crow, and was surprised, to say the least. Didn't seem to chime with the person I thought I knew, via this thread.

I have to say, if such a game was made (and how could any sane person call it a 'game'), and GOG put it in their inventory, I would be the first person to cancel my account.

No threats, no posturing, just out for good.

That goes for the Serbian Film as well.

ElTerprise: Good Evening. So you have some games of the current promo on your wishlist?
Only one Shattered Seel ( and maybe the two Screamer games ) . I was talking about the games ( currently 152 ) on my wishlist . I have to prioritize them ( which ones to purchase today and which ones can wait for a year ) I'm working on a new budget plan and i decided to not buying games for a year from 1st of June . ( and as i know my luck GOG will offer something from my wishlist on Monday )
