EBToriginal: This is interesting. I now have a small get well soon sum and I think I should get a game, but no idea what.
What kind of games do you most like to play? RPG, RTS, Point and click Adventures?

If you don't have Sacrifice yet, that would be one to get, in the current Weekend Promo... ;)
These days, mostly adventures, of both the point and click and action varieties. Some RPGS and metroidvanias too. I am right terrible at RTS.

EndreWhiteMane: It is an rpg, very much made up of lore and legends mixed with history of 15th Century Germany.
Pretty awesome really.

If you look at my original post though I was trying to make a joke. :-)
That sounds awesome :)....sorry i actually overlooked the joke ;).
*more sightseeing hugs and waves* Lots of fun, holidays are great. I ate Sachtertorte today (which I can't link you since the wifi does not even want to open wiki, so google it yourself, if you don't know it) :P

ZenWan: Glancing quickly through the thread, some posts from @Moon caught my eye. Glad you're having fun, you are missed here. Looking forward to seeing those photos of yours.
*big hug* I really wish I could share some pics, but the wifi here is not able to upload anything... perhaps I'll have better luck at the next camping (in three days) :D

You are right, of course. Maybe I should just ignore all Hatred-related discussions ;P

As good as this sounds it's only 806 pages for me ;)

Although i've never played Dark Forces II (yet) i'd assume that it might work the same way like in Jedi Outcast and Academy where the lightsaber deflects the shots automatically...but i don't know...

You can but it looks bad; the game was just old to make a weapon like that work. I think in DF 2 I used my Sabre all of five minutes. They really didn't perfect the sabre until Outcast at which point you'll never want another weapon again.

Just tried it and yes it does deflect automatically.

Thanks

Yeah but in Outcast you can clear an entire room with deflection! :D

Did the game already switch between first-person and third-person or was it all in first-person? And yes i think i played Outcast and Acedemy solely with the lightsaber.

You're welcome. It was just a guess :).

In Dark Forces 2 you can switch from first to third person view.

(use F1 by default)

I'm pretty sure 2 is all 1st person. I need 3rd person to use the sabre, but like I said, it's kind of a useless weapon in DF 2, at least for me.
