Yeah, watched it on Steam while waiting for a reply.
I prefer to play old games that I know (bad graphics and all) and this one will
remain unknown to me.There must of been a lot of games I missed, but I did
like the M&M stuff and must of just kept waiting on New World Computing
releases.

EndreWhiteMane: Ooo, what a nice peaceful place to hide out. :-)
Aloha to anyone lurking in the shadows.
Not so much lurking as crashing out and finally waking up...

How's it going?

OK here, just about to turn in if it cools down a bit more. Hot and really muggy here.
One more day of work and I can slow down a bit.

Thought it might interest you since it's inspired by Darklands.
We talked about a remake of that a while ago and this may just be it.
The graphics are still crappy so you'd feel right at home. :-)

And it's going to get hotter if the people at the weather channel aren't drunk forecasting again.
It's about 15 degrees warmer here, but not much humidity.

That's good, downtime should feel pretty sweet.

It's not blistering hot or anything but the humidity is way up there, supposed to cool down and dry up for a few days though.
Still waiting for the rain we were supposed to have all day, not a drop yet. ;)

That's some of the worst, when it's two seconds from raining but never does.
I'd rather slog through downpours than have that.
OK, off to pillow, see y'all tomorrow.
Hello Crow, you seem to be the last one standing, now that Endre and gunsynd have gone. Hope all is well in your world.

I spent yesterday fighting computer issues, not fun. To reward myself for coming out on top, I bought Battle Chess, even tho I can't afford any games right now. But it was a good discount, and I had a frustrating day, and ... and.. - sometimes you just have to break your own rules. :-D
I've never played it, but I'm an avid chess player, so I'm sure I'll enjoy this one.

j0ekerr: Anyways, do you have any recommendations on cheap but fast drives?
avatar
Ixamyakxim: No just advice - get a new HD quickly and BACK UP NOW! ;)
Very sound advice - I lost a hard drive yesterday, the second in about 6 months that just failed on me. I had up-to-date backups, but it's still been a pain trying to make space to copy the files I access every day onto my other hard drives (2 left now).

You can get several good little utilities that test your drives and warn you if they're not doing well.

Btw, if it's your main hard drive (or only hard drive) that's sub-par, be sure you have a disk image on an external hard drive, not just backups, or you'll have to install all your programs from scratch.

EndreWhiteMane: OK, off to pillow, see y'all tomorrow.
Hope you're sleeping soundly, and that the sound you hear in your dreams is rain falling outside. :-)

Glancing quickly through the thread, some posts from @Moon caught my eye. Glad you're having fun, you are missed here. Looking forward to seeing those photos of yours.

Good morning. =)

I usually am, but I have an advantage since Endre's hours later than I am, and Gunsynd's schedule is pretty much totally different since they're 19 hours ahead of me.

Wow, you spent less than 3 dollars in celebration of overcoming all day tech support garbage. How overindulgent of you...-laughs-

IAmSinistar: Can I just chime in here and say that I hate GOG Chat. Not just the tiny typing box, not just that you have to do a key combo to insert a newline. No, what I really hate is that it sorts by online status instead of by WHO HAS SENT YOU A F*$%ING MESSAGE.

That's somewhat annoying, that is.

Dear GOG Developers - I will buy you a book on interface design and usability, your very first. I will also fly down to Poland and personally upgrade your installed software from Netscape Navigator and AOL Instant Messenger. There have been oh so many advancements in the technology since 1998. You don't have to be Good Old Geocities anymore.
Hi Sinistar, always good to see you here.

I couldn't agree more - about all the points you made. What used to be a pretty usable PM system, has gone to a totally unusable mess.

@HyperSomniac and @ToxicTom both have very good wishlist entries about this, iirc, I will see if I can find the links, in case you missed them.

Here's the one from @HyperSomniac, it has ridiculously few signatures, perhaps you can drum up some support for it?

Editing out my reply to Crow, it's too confusing if it gets tacked onto this post. Will repost in a while..
