CarrionCrow: And some people actually wonder why so many say fuck it to television garbage and get Netflix or Hulu instead.
99.9 percent of it is brain rotting shit that isn't worth a single penny.
Hiya Crow!.

Indubitably... "Reality" television got created when financiers took over Hollywood, so they could create shows without having to pay for writers... or any unnecessary creative thought processes going into productions that might cut into their profits, since they discovered they could pretend to have viewers and advertisers would still pay for airtime spots.. Corporate State Media is rather monotone, because of the people it speaks for and especially the people who run it, are greed afflicted, devoid of humanity, and, or, intoxicated by their own collective vanity...

and..

Greetings and Good day to you all, those here, not yet here, and the lurkers too.

I hope everyone had a good week, or at least will be able to enjoy this week ending, and weekend beginning. All is well here, thankfully. ;)

Good afternoon. =)

Happy to hear that things are going well in your neck of the woods.
Can't complain here, things are generally quiet, nothing terribly exciting happening.

I remember when reality television was just a few shows on MTV that had the appeal of gawking at human trainwrecks.
But time's gone on, and it's gotten so much worse.
I can think of a grand total of one reality-type show that I can manage to watch for longer than half a second without screaming. That's it.
So much nicer doing things through the internet. I pay 8 dollars a month for Netflix. If I wanted to get more content, I could pay 8 dollars for Hulu and 8 dollars for Funimation. With that I'd be set for the next year at least, and I don't ever have to feel like I'm paying for things I hate.

Sorry for the late reply.
And thank you for the info! :-)

Yes, we have Netflix and it usually has something worth watching in a pinch, when I'm not online or playing a game. Recently I've started collecting old TV shows if I can get them in a complete series. And most recently picked up all 5 seasons of Get Smart, which I'm watching through now (though only a couple episodes a nigh.)

It's fun seeing actors show up on old shows before they got to be big stars. One of the early episodes of Get Smart, I think in the first season, Leonard Nimoy had a part a year before he got the Spock role. :D

Some of the old TV shows are super cheesy, but still good and inexpensive, but the best shows are usually more expensive because they went so many seasons, or because they are still popular today. With the way things are going on new shows being spewed out of the vat, Ill be getting a lot more old shows, when I can spend the coin on them.

edit... some shows I plan to get in the future.

Columbo, Mission Impossible, Batman, and perhaps Star Trek Voyager and Deep Space Nine, among the top on the list. heh...

Get Buffy and Angel if possible. Kudos for DS9, the IMO best Star Trek show.

Howdy Tom! :)
Hope you are well and happy, and not too overworked by your mountainous work-log.

Well, those two, Buffy and Angel, are lower on the list, but at least I've watched a little of both of those,
DS9 and Voyager are definitely ones worth watching and getting (when you can find them on sale.) , :)
and happily I don't mind getting Black and Whist TV shows too, like The Outer Limits, early Twilight Zone,
Untouchables (with Robert Stack) and a few others I can't think of high on the "to get" list.

*Wildly hugs Ghost*Saw Ruroini Kenshin yesterday and some Buffy and Agents of SHIELD last weekend. Pretty great stuff.
