Why would it be fighting? It was just a conversation, a discussion. It's interesting that you see something so innocent as fighting. :-)

Reviews are kind of mixed.

I did. I really, really liked the game, until I got stuck when a Russian rockstar wannabe drug addict with two knifes killed me over and over.

I think it's a special game with some flaws, but overall definitely worth playing.

Decided to look up on hwat "netorade" means and I regret doing so.

Yeah, I did... Played it once, then immediately again after that :-)
I absolutely loved it. Boss fights like the one Tom mentioned are a bit of a pain, but luckily there are not many. It reminded me a little of Deus Ex, but without as much freedom, and a much bigger emphasis on conversations.

Yeah, like a mix of Deus Ex and Mass Effect. The conversations are really good, and there's a lot of "choice and consequence".
I will definitely try the game again, I think I skilled rather badly the last time.

I'll echo what the others said about this great game. You can also really spin the story as you want it by the way in which you interact with characters and the choices you make. A lot of fun all around.

*edit to add: I played as a "James Bond" - stuck with pistols as my weapon of choice, focus on talking my way out of a conversation as well as doing a bit of womanizing, "snarking" and sneaking. As it turns out, the pistol is a fairly strong weapon by the time it's all levelled up! Also, the skills / stats in the game give a wonderful sense of progression. Early on, you really won't be very good at sneaking, your aim isn't that great and it's difficult to do things. A few levels and upgrades later and all that stuff you struggled with is now becoming second nature. Really liked this aspect of the game. It found a nice happy medium between letting me pick and choose how I was going to tackle a situation, my skill, and the strength of my character's skills. All were important in just the right proportion.
