ddickinson: You have me at a loss. When were me and Agent fighting?

In the UK, chips refer to , while we call [url=http://www.cityam.com/sites/default/files/styles/full_width_article_body_image/public/main/blogposts/mcdonalds-fries-fullsize-getty.jpg?itok=nkk0b62g]these fries. The difference is the thickness. So when you say fries in the US, do you mean what we call chips, or are your fries like our fries?

*big random happy hug*
I thought everybody knew this by now, it's always part of any british/american english stand up routine.

British chips are american fries. They don't difference between thickness.
American chips are british crisps.

And the only reason those are called fries is because of the big yellow M on the container.

And a torch is a torch except when it's a flashlight.

toxicTom: The girl on the right?
What a coincidence, that's her stage name too.

By the way Tom. Has anyone ever worked out how many cars a season of Cobra 11 trashes on average?

AgentBirdnest: Don't know if it is the same everywhere, but I'd call both of those "fries" ... Thick fries, and normal fries :-)
Errr... uh.... I honestly don't remember... I was in quite a lot of pain ;-p
Here's your daily jar of peanut butter, courtesy of the Empress Owl.

ddickinson: That's nice to hear, that she shares your passion for otaku as well.

Was that not for your own good, to help you? :-)
Quick lesson.

Otaku is the person, not the hobby. So basically you've just said that she has a passion for japanese subculture nerds.

From which we infer that our dear blob is getting netorare'd.

Oh myyy.

AgentBirdnest: You are definitely right about that! :-) (Hopefully we don't bulldoze it all to build more Walmarts :-|)

I haven't heard about anyone eating bacon covered in peanut butter :-| ... However, chocolate covered bacon is very real, and is getting more popular >__< *blorff* ... Most people don't love peanut butter as much as me. Eating it straight from the jar is not too common. Quite a lot of people think I am disgusting :-)

I love chicken and chips. A standard American side-dish :-) (except, we call them "fries" of course :-p)

*Just a random hug*

AgentBirdnest: Oh, I remember! The lovely ladies here wouldn't let me leave... After escaping to get some food by shutting down GOG, you cut my legs off to prevent me from doing it again :-| *gulp*
You see, it was for the good of GOG. I knew there must have been a reason. :-)

Oh well, I am sure l0rdtr3k knew what I meant. :-)

Why would it be fighting? It was just a conversation, a discussion. It's interesting that you see something so innocent as fighting. :-)

I am actually more surprised by your lack of questioning about what netorare means.

Double Oh myyy!

I decided to just give up trying to understand all this nerd talk and just go along with things. :-)
In other news, has anyone played alpha protocol?

Reviews are kind of mixed.

I did. I really, really liked the game, until I got stuck when a Russian rockstar wannabe drug addict with two knifes killed me over and over.

I think it's a special game with some flaws, but overall definitely worth playing.

Decided to look up on hwat "netorade" means and I regret doing so.
Good morning.

Guess this "Zero Sale Items" thing is no more, thanks to the FPS promo.
It's almost 3 pm I'd better get started on lunch.

Yeah, I did... Played it once, then immediately again after that :-)
I absolutely loved it. Boss fights like the one Tom mentioned are a bit of a pain, but luckily there are not many. It reminded me a little of Deus Ex, but without as much freedom, and a much bigger emphasis on conversations.

Yeah, like a mix of Deus Ex and Mass Effect. The conversations are really good, and there's a lot of "choice and consequence".
I will definitely try the game again, I think I skilled rather badly the last time.

I'll echo what the others said about this great game. You can also really spin the story as you want it by the way in which you interact with characters and the choices you make. A lot of fun all around.

*edit to add: I played as a "James Bond" - stuck with pistols as my weapon of choice, focus on talking my way out of a conversation as well as doing a bit of womanizing, "snarking" and sneaking. As it turns out, the pistol is a fairly strong weapon by the time it's all levelled up! Also, the skills / stats in the game give a wonderful sense of progression. Early on, you really won't be very good at sneaking, your aim isn't that great and it's difficult to do things. A few levels and upgrades later and all that stuff you struggled with is now becoming second nature. Really liked this aspect of the game. It found a nice happy medium between letting me pick and choose how I was going to tackle a situation, my skill, and the strength of my character's skills. All were important in just the right proportion.
