It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Ixamyakxim: Other question - do I need to manage cookies anymore? I used to block them in IE, with the exception of a few sites - how do I do the same here? Thanks for putting up with these question by the way! ;)
Getting and [url=https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ghostery/?src=ss]Ghostery should rid you of all the "bad" tracking cookies. Cookies are actually useful thing, they are just abused by some people.
And so the backlog downloading rages on......

Great thanks I might give that AdBlock a try! I know years ago I stopped frequenting one site because I was sure stuff was slipping in via their banner ads.

LOL would I have been unable to see this before?
Good morning (afternoon and evening too) to everyone!

Hoping you are all well and happy, or and at the least, doing better than expected...
All is well here, just been a bit busy and avoiding too many distractions, whilst trying
to squeeze in some game time. :)

<ruffles everyone's hair and feathers playfully>

edit... at least there are no page errors today reading through the Forum so far...

That was copy/pasted from a Linux command line utility named lgogdownloader. http://www.gog.com/forum/general/lgogdownloader_gogdownloader_for_linux

Adblock has been accused of mafia like bussiness practices. They make offers you can't refuse.
However the article I found sounded too much like a Fox News report (incensed and opinionated) to give it too much credit.

If you are worried about this, take Adblock Edge, it's a fork, without the whitelisting feature.
And yes they have been accused of that, but won in court (at least in Germany).

Just because it's not illegal doesn't mean I trust them :(

Not really I was never too worried about the presumed whitelisting. But it's good to know that there's an alternative.
What was it that they won? That it was a bullshit accusation or that they had the right to do that sort of thing?

It actually was about several things. But the "blackmailing" was an issue too.

I trust them more than any ad-CDN.

The judge said they have the right to block ads. Some big publishers sued them...
Can I has hugs?

Massive Road Rage!
I wanted a change since I did this. Inspired by this post.

Same old, same old. I suppose they tried to convince the judge that their whitelisting was akin to a mafia extortion racket. It's what they'd have done.

Well if they had taken a boatload of money to whitelist one of those annoying purple monkey pop ups I would believe it. But I'm guessing that they made up some whitelisting guidelines and none of the blocked ads conformed to it.

toxicTom: LOL, doesn't matter. Don't forget to add some nice Disney/Dreamworks/Pixar covers and labels...
"Ratatouille seems different, what's with all the tentacles?"
"I dunno, but I have a sudden craving for shellfish."
Okay a couple more questions RE: Firefox.

Sites look "big" when I load them so I CTRL - it once or twice. Is there any way to get Firefox to "remember" so I don't have to do it every time I load it up?

Cookies - I can't find a setting to "ask to allow." I can allow them everywhere for a session, I can block them all and allow certain sites.

What I'm looking for is something like a dialogue box to pop up asking if I want to allow the cookie of a particular site - something like "Allow This Cookie" "Block Once" "Block All" - is this possible?

I couldn't find it under Privacy or "About:Permissions"
