It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

I just picked up 40GB of HD space by defragging.

Let that be a lesson to all you kids who don't think that's important. :D
Anyone heard of user MDG94? He/she just sent me a friend invite but I don't recognize him/her.

Me too. Google says he voted for anime on the wishlist, but not much more.

just declined the invite. Thanks for the help
So as promised... ;)

Later tonight I'll be upgrading my Internet Explorer. Anyone know which one I should be downloading for Win 7 64 bit? Right now I think I'm running IE 9.XXXXX - is there a certain more recent upgrade pretty close to this one in UI? Anyone who has upgraded recently what settings I'll have to "readjust" to get it nice, clean and a bit more secure?

Me too.
I asked him "why" and he said he had no friends on Galaxy... I explained that this is not the way to go...

I think the latest version available for Windows 7 is IE 11. You could also, of course, try another browser like Chrome or Firefox ;)

What were you using? FAT32? Why would you do that?

I would go for Chrome or Firefox. IE has frequently security issues and MS is not very fast to address them. If you really want to stay with IE (which I can't understand), just take the latest version. In fact Windows Update should offer it out of the box. Don't tell me you have Windows update disabled.

I've always been a bit curious about Firefox but I don't like installing "third party" stuff and a lot of people always mention scripts and such in the same breath as Firefox. Do I worry too much about this? Is the Firefox package I'd download more than enough on its own and do people just run scripts as a convenience for certain features they want?

I believe that's true. Firefox has always used add-ons made by the community. I believe it works better than IE out of the box. You can try it for yourself if you want. :)

Installing in X86 directory - yes or no?

FF is a lot more secure than IE. Most of the time. Scripts? You can install a myriad of addons in both Chrome and FF. Some enhance security and privacy by blocking certain things like ads, facebook buttons and even javascript, or enforcing SSL connections, some are just convenience features, like an integrated dictionary or the ability to download all images from a site. Some are bullshit.

I recommend AdBlock Plus or AdBlock Edge for blocking Ads which not only declutters websites but also enhances security a lot, since it has happened that adservers served malicious content.
And for preventing tracking I would use Ghostery.
If you're really paranoid you can use NoScript which per default disables all JavaScript. But since pages like GOG need JS, you have to manually whitelist them - might be too much for a not so tech-savvy person.

Yes. It's a 32bit program.

LOL things look a little... different...

Two questions - it sounds like it's spinning up the GPU on this computer a bit - should I disable hardware acceleration? Any way to disable the dictionary that seems to be autocorrecting this message? And last thing - when I press my middle mouse wheel to "lock" scroll, it doesn't automatically switch to manual scroll when I roll the wheel - any way to fix that?

*edit Nevermind found the option to turn off spell check

Other question - do I need to manage cookies anymore? I used to block them in IE, with the exception of a few sites - how do I do the same here? Thanks for putting up with these question by the way! ;)
