ZenWan: It takes one to know one. :-) +1 for both of you.
Good morning / evening to all. I tried to stop by yesterday, but too many GOGbears.
Took a look at the forum once, and that made me beat a hasty retreat. I did notice something that gave me a wry smile - apart from the stupid threads, that just irritates me. In their defence, the GOG search engine is broken, and often posts / threads don't show up for a while, so duplicates are more understandable.
But now that Witcher is available, people who are having problems installing / running it are advising each other to uninstall Galaxy, every last trace of.
Considering that GOG must have pulled out all the stops to get Galaxy up and running - in a manner of speaking - before the Witcher release, there is a dreadful irony in what has now happened.
As I don't have either the Witcher or Galaxy, I am able to observe from the sidelines without any risk to my blood pressure. :-)
Hope you are all well, and that Moon, if she reads this, is recovered and enjoying her trip.
Thanks to those from this thread who sent me friends requests, gratefully accepted. :-)
Good morning. =)
Yes, the overall forum is rather obnoxious in general right now. Figuring it will be for at least a few weeks, if not longer.
The search engine might be down, but I'd be willing to bet that if I went from thread to thread posting links to the appropriate sub-forums, people would still keep putting out threads in the general area.
Overall confidence in people being sensible when they have a chance to make a spectacle of themselves and throw a fit publicly is not very high. At all.
Galaxy is a beta product, and a new beta product at that. Problems are inevitable.
My Galaxy has slow download speeds. My solution? I don't use it for that.
Doesn't mean I won't as the product is improved, but for now, I've gone with a simple alternative, rather than behaving like an insufferable asshole.
Aside from all the nonsense, how's your day going so far?
