Always have been, it's makes a lot more sense and is really far easier.
Americans are lucky, we already speak the 'universal language'.
We could at least get off our lazy arses and learn the universal system of measurement. :-)

But seriously i would agree. The metric system easier and only three countries haven't adapted it yet...;)

But why haven't the US adapted it yet?

Yeah definitely. But the nautical units are still non-metric in many (all?) countries. Something like nautical mile and knots....

I hear that. Anyone remember the Mars Climate Orbiter?... yeah...
Although I must admit, I'm still not very good with temperatures (but to be fair, I've never been great with Fahrenheit in the first place.)

I just googled that. They lost the probe because they messed up measurement systems? Oh my...

So NASA is using SI-units..

Pretty much. Caused all kinds of complaining when we tried to adopt the metric system.
Actually had people say everyone else in the world should adopt ours. :-)

'Leagues' are needed though or else Jules Verne's book would be called:
"69046 miles under the sea" :-)

Yeah, I always have to calculate for temps, that a tricky one.
And I always use feet/inches in any kind of construction. Otherwise nothing I built would fit anywhere. :-)

In German it's called "20.000 Meilen (=miles although translated from lieue = league = Leuge (german word)) unter dem Meer" and the mile isn't metric nor SI ;)

And why am i not surprised about those reactions ;)
