ElTerprise: That should be new in the enhanced Edition. Local Co-op sounds interesting :)

That sounds really good - great stuff for the kids :)

Well i'm interested in some of these games on sale - several of them are on my wishlist but the discount is not big enough imho.
avatar
ddickinson: I do not like the sound of "New intuitive user-interface tailored for controllers". It sounds to me like another damn PC developer dumbing down the game for console players. *sighs*

Also, there is no guarantee it will come to GOG, it will probably be just a Steam thing, and then charge extra for it on GOG, most likely as a DLC upgrade.

Nothing for me in the weekend sale, I don't even own one game from the list. :-)

avatar
Soccorro: Only ethan carter looks appealing. but i'll have to refrain from getting it. got myself saints row 2 already. :)
avatar
ddickinson: That's understandable. It's not like the game won't be on sale again, and next time it might have a bigger discount.

avatar
adaliabooks: Yeah, that's the feeling I get too, decent games but very expensive even on sale.

EIT's link probably has the full details, but from what I could see it was a lot of stuff added for console versions (controller support, split screen co - op) plus some reworking of the game (they mentioned quests being changed)
avatar
ddickinson: Yeah, I just read it. I am not keen on the whole redesign for consoles bit, I hate that with PC games. There is also no mention of it coming to GOG. It seems that so many games now are just getting dumbed down for console players.
yep! :D I have a huge backlog to clear anyway.
avatar
AgentBirdnest: Good to hear it is better... I hope it keeps getting better, and as quickly as possible.

*looking at the promo* ... Yeah a couple games I've had my eye on, but am not sure about. The discounts aren't quite deep enough for me to bite... Interested in a couple others as well, but my computer isn't quite fast enough to play them.

*more return hugs*
There is one game on the list that I would play, but to be honest I would prefer to play the original. I have no intention of playing the remake, as I am not a fan of the developer or the guy in charge. Other than that, a few interesting games, but nothing I really need, especially not at those prices.

*more hugs*

avatar
ElTerprise: But at least the keep the games seperate as they mention on their KS page...
True, but I just hope this redesigned interface only effects the controls for a controller, and not the PC keyboard and mouse controls. To many games are being spoiled by dumbed down controls and interfaces. I also wonder if GOG will see the release for free, I guess that will depend on how dedicated the developers are, and if they actually care about the non-Steam customers.
avatar
adaliabooks: Good morning :)

Yeah, I'm hoping they might do a nice big sale on it before the new version comes out... then again, if they are giving it for free to previous owners, maybe not...
Would be nice - but we don't even know if that version will come to GOG (but i assume it will considering Larian brought (all?) their games to GOG)

FearfulSymmetry: Well, I've done about 10.000 words and I estimate I have another 6000-7000 to go. So I stil have quite a bit left to do unfortunately. :P
Urgh...:P - i hope you can find the motivation to do work on it today :)

FearfulSymmetry: Haha, I suppose I really should change my avatar then. :P *big hug*

Well, I'm leaving for England on Sunday, so until then I'm trying to get some more work on my thesis done, although it's been hard to find the motivation this week.
Hopefully it will be nice, warm, and sunny for you when you get to England, but recently the weather has been quite mixed, with a lot of rain. I hope you are able to get some more work done on your thesis. I know how hard it can be to get things done when you have no motivation.

Yeah, I'm expecting rain, so I'm packing an umbrella. :P Thank you very much! *big return hug*

ddickinson: It looks like I was right, it was a big games sale this weekend (but not very big discounts):

My arm is a lot better, still painful and stiff, but getting better. How are you today, anything nice planned?
Gonna call in sick and try to get some sleep today.

I hope so too but afaik Larian has a quite good reputation so i hope they won't sacrifice it...

Are there many of your going on this trip, or is it just a small group?

avatar
l0rdtr3k: Gonna call in sick and try to get some sleep today.
Will you get in trouble for doing that?

I know of other companies that were once seen as really good and customer orientated, but they have slowly drifted away from that. I am sure you can guess which company I am referring to. ;-)

The reason I think it might not happen, is that there is no mention of any platform other than Steam. But I guess we will have to wait and see.

I think there are about 25 of us, including 2 professors.
avatar
tinyE: Hey I'm not going to start a depressing mourning thread because I think it would be disrespectful, but how about a little shout out to the late B.B. King.

None of this R.I.P. crap. Let's just dig his music and remember that.
I'll have it on all day today. Thanks for the reminder.

Morning all, glad to see you're doing well.
Doing OK here today too.

So it's a small Dutch raiding party. :-)

I hope they put on a good show for you at the Globe Theatre. Many people expect it to be huge, like modern theatres, but people forget it was originally built hundred of years ago when the world population was a fraction of what it is today.

Good morning, Endre!

How are you today, is your headache any better?

True and i fear it could happen with Larian as they are expanding recently...we'll see

Moin Endre, good to hear that you're doing ok.

A lot of developers seem to treat the PC gamers poorly once they move onto the console, as there is often more money to be made on the console, which requires a more basic game, so less development is needed.

Just found a B.B. King album with duets at work and turned it on - enjoy https://youtu.be/xVxCtt3s_1M

Yep, although I'll probably pretend not to be Dutch when it's time for Eurovision. :P

Haha, yes. I do have some idea of what it looks like thanks to my classes, but it's always different in real life, so I'm curious to see it.
