moonshineshadow: Yeah that will be fun and I'll probably never hear the end of it ;-)

ddickinson: But at least it might put a little smile on his face and help take his mind off his headache. :-)
I hope so :-)

GhostwriterDoF: By Jove! I think you've got it! heh!

That's great... :D
avatar
ddickinson: Thank you.

Without looking it up on the internet, do you know what Jove means?
I took it to mean Jupiter, but I already looked it up (before I posted) to see if you might have meant anything else...

I may be a yank, but I am part English too, though I've never walked under those skies. heh!

tinyE: Yeah, it's a book of the Bible.
Is it? I do not recall there been a book of Jove, not that I am an expert on the Bible.

Yay! You're here!*waves*
Good evening(it's afternoon here) to you too.

Maybe it was 'Job'.

You are correct, it is indeed another name for Jupiter (the Roman God). I think it was his original name, but my Roman mythology is a little rusty. It was used as an expression of the most powerful of deities, at least in the context of the play.

I guess it depends on which Bible, as you Americans sure did love making up new religions after your independence, or rewriting the Christian Bible to better suit your needs. :-)

Edit: But Job is a book from the Bible, I think.

ddickinson: Why is a mankini dirty? People do not consider bikinis to be dirty, so why should mankinis be seen as dirty? Are you just been sexist here? :-)
Honestly? In my opinion... I do find bikinis a little bit dirty... They are quite revealing, and don't often leave much to the imagination... Then again, I grew up Mormon, so even sweaters seem dirty to me ;-D

GhostwriterDoF: Howdy Agent!

At least the one DD gave me is armored with an electric heater built in. :D
Good day, Ghost!

Are you sure she is not trying to kill you? I'm no expert, but an electric heater might not be the best feature if you want to swim ;-p

Yep, Job is one. (After I checked how this translates to the German names) :D

Job and Jehova too were characters in the book, or books.

Perhaps it might've been one of the lost books of the biblical texts... ;)

So we have another guy with a dirty mind. :-)

Part of the reason many see the mankini as dirty and the bikini not is due to the male dominated society we have (not starting a whole sexist debate here, just saying). Men enjoy seeing a woman in a skimpy outfit (who doesn't :-)), but seeing a man dressed like that makes many guys feel uncomfortable, so the whole concept of things like mankinis been dirty arrises, a bit like how many are put off by guys wearing budgie smugglers. :-)

They're for swimming in? :o

No wonder she gave Endre the "shrinks when gets wet" one. heh!

I checked, the heater is properly grounded, and it has a "cool" switch fan too for the summer.
Quite the luxury in armored mankini technology. :D

I did not, I gave Endre a nice comfortable one. You on the other hand might want to keep that mankini nice and dry, groin garrotting can be very painful. :-)

I don't see any of that as dirty, but then again, I like to roll around in the mud... Still, I wouldn't look at a guy in skimpy clothes like I would at a women wearing skimpy (hopefully not the same) clothes... :P

But I can honestly say I haven't the foggiest when it comes to what a budgie smuggler is...
Okay everyone knows that Jove thing was a joke right? :P
