Coelocanth: Ah, so this is where all you cool cats disappeared to. Just stopping in for a quick beer. Who's buying?

Speaking of beer, my wife got me a selection of beers for the holiday season and is doling them out one at a time in a 'ten days of Christmas' kind of thing (she only bought ten for some reason). Kind of cool though, as I get a different beer each day.
That's sounds very cool! Now if I could just get someone to get me a different kind of pizza for 10 days in a row. ;)
Mmmmmmm, pizza!

Done! What do you want to start with?

EndreWhiteMane: I'm on Vista and 7 myself. Trying to troubleshoot a simple network problem on 8 for a friend and MS seems to think I need to jump through 1000 hoops just to do that.
Neither WiFi or Ethernet connect and I'll be damned if I can find a way to simply re-install TCP/IP.
Grrrr
How's that even possible? ↁ_ↁ

Spicy sausage and mushroom would be a great start. ;)

I don't know what the hell MS was thinking. Only option I have with this laptop is a "System Refresh" which leaves data but removes any installed programs......Ready for this?....... Not purchased in the Windows Store.....
I don't even know if it will solve my issue, but I know I'll have to re-install a bunch of stuff. No wonder Linux installs have gone up by a few hundred percent! :/

Wait, what about console commands and diagnostic tools? Is there even a network card in the device manager? That's what you did with every windows ever since 98 and up. How can they have removed all the commands and options? I know that the TCP/IP stack is coded in the linux kernel. I thought the same was true of Windows, ever since XP.

It's late and I really should be sleeping.

I'm not the right person to ask, as I don't particularly like beer, will have to research it and get back to you.

No freaking way! Seriously? That's beyond sucks and screwed up. Don't think I'm getting Win 8, ever. And can't say I envy you.

Basically none of the things I've done on XP and Vista and 7 1000 times worked for me on 8! Sucks big. :/ Oh well, it's working now and I'll just have to reload some stuff. Sure glad I found a new laptop with 7 on it. ;)
Edit: Have a good sleep. ;)

You go have dinner, and I"ll go and let the sound of the rain put me to sleep - yep, it's raining for the past six hours or so, again.

Good night!

Going to be a long winter if it doesn't stop frigging raining....

A friend of mine was given a beer advent calendar. 24 numbered and de-labeled different beers. The girl who made it agonized over the order, trying to leave what she thought were the best for last. After he drinks it, she tells him what it was.

Rained on me on my way to class today. Been doing so for a while now, and it was practically a guarantee since I had this class today, which it always rains on since it's the longest walk.

Never a good thing when the rain knows where you'll be and has time to plan. You have my sympathies. =)
