GhostwriterDoF: And yes, those Europeans can be "sensitive" when talking about their historical events... :P
...
ddickinson: Europeans? I was thinking of somewhere further away. :-)
Sadly I am not just talking about said nation twisting things for political and propaganda purposes, it was also done for greed, arrogance, and ego. Sadly so many people now believe these, well, lies, that it's hard to ever try to show a different prospective. Generally they are blinded by a mixture of arrogance, ignorance, or are simply misled or ill-educated.
I have a sneaking suspicion, and an inkling of the Country in question, you are hesitant to mention. ;)
But I would venture to say, in such a large Country today, full of wide open spaces, and people filled places, and because of its size, it’s widely varied population-wise, betwixt its thinkers, and stinkers.
Greed, arrogance and ego are the forces of Darkness in Politics, as opposed to the forces of Light, empathy, public service and justice, which are constantly working against each other, though the ego represents more a conflict of those forces within ones' self.
Ah, the clueless may be among the many these days, especially with the decline of quality education, but the truly greedy, arrogant and ego-driven selfishness, of those who happen to be the loudest among us, are the voices of the few, the tainted minority. The majority of the public are good hearted when given a chance, when not being misled, misdirected and ill-educated...
ddickinson: I did think about sharing some random facts each day, just a little short fact that I noticed from some of the books. Maybe that would be a good way to start, similar to when I used to start each day with a quote.
Sounds like fun... I'm sure you'll think of something, especially after your workload winds down a bit.
