It's the same word. While "führen" can also be used synonymous to "begleiten" (to guide). "Anführen" is only used to describe someone leading and managing a group of people as a for example.

The preposition "An" puts you "in front" of that group. I'm horrible at explaining things, sorry.

Again? Does that mean that when they added the games back on to GOG, it brought back a bug that was previously fixed? If so then I should have no need to re-download it.

I think I understand. So one can be used to describe someone who leads, such as a leader of a group, or even a tour guide who "leads" a group of tourists, while the other specifically means a leader of a group of people. Is that about right?
