Yep, as a Linux user, the lgogdownloader utility has worked very well. Sometimes I've used the Firefox add-on DownThemAll, which is pretty reliable too. (DownThemAll is a more advanced download manager with way more features than the basic built-in browser download thing.) I use lgogdownloader when I can though, it automatically gets all the install files and bonus features for me in one fell swoop, all organized neatly in one folder.

Currently downloading Jedi Knight: Jedi Outcast. Other than that, the remaining SW stuff to download:

Republic Commando

And yes, it's lgogdownloader instead of GOG's official downloader utility (or Galaxy), as it won't work under wine.

That shouldn't take too long. It's not like you're doing Wasteland 2, Tesla Effect or Witcher 2. Those are all day downloads with DSL.

I see the new account has rolled out. Not a fan personally, but I guess there are many who will like it.

I seem to have lost all my chat history as well, which is a bit annoying. I am sure someone said that we would keep our message history when the PMs switch to chat. Maybe it will just take some time.

Hey, sorry got distracted and missed your post last night.

It's just nice yo be reminded that when I put my mind to it I can write some pretty good stuff.
Right now I'm thinking a little bit of both, steal the main themes of the old story but change them slightly and start again from scratch, in my new fleshed out fantasy world.

The story was about a young king fighting for his throne and to defend his Kingdom from an ancient demonic enemy. It was all a bit clichéd and not very well thought out (which is why I lost faith in it eventually) but I think I can steal the best bits, combine them with some other ideas I've had and get something out of it.


Jusy seen the new account section too. I like the order history, and being able to tag games is nice (although I hope they add custom tags too) but the chat doesn't look great and my conversation history is gone too. Only on my mobile though so it might look better on a proper computer.

but I love the Orders section (finally I can lookup how much money I spent :) (I lost tap long ago)
though I'd like to be able to "unpage" that i.e. have all the orders in one long page.
Same with the games section (have to go through seven pages were the was one long one before.

But All in all it's way better this way since you can tag the games sort through wishlist and game section etc.
I like it.

Well, speak of the devil, now custom tags are there too... XD

And wishlist sharing, that should please the ninja gifters :)

The pages are updating as I look at them, so hopefully the PM history will come back, they did say it would be kept.

The story sounds interesting. Was the king and kingdom based on a real kind and kingdom? Ireland, perhaps?

The conversation history is gone on the desktop version of the site as well. It will probably come back a bit later, as it is only day one of the new transition to the new account system. I must say, I am not that keen on the shelf, I preferred the older one, and not just due to the manual sort feature.



Some of the new account system is nice, but some things, like the game shelf, were changes for the worst, IMO.

I am great, thank you. My weekend was just wonderful, we had such a nice time on Sunday just relaxing and enjoying the sunny weather.

How was your weekend, did you do anything nice? Do you have a busy week planned at work?

I think we can still chat with users on Galaxy when we are not on Galaxy. I think it's just teething trouble while the new site features are settling in. Best to give it a few days and see what happens.

No, I never finished it. Didn't really put enough thought into it and just lost steam eventually.
Well, looking at the dates on my backups, I think I was writing on and off for about two years. The first year I got 60k words of the original draft done before scrapping it. The second year I wrote about 20k words of actual novel plus 40k of planning, so 120k overall and an average of 60k a year.

And I'm fine, how are you?
