HypersomniacLive: Good thing you didn't say "search". ;-)

Yes, because they chose "imadick" when signing up GOG where using the forum was beneath them, but gods forbid that they Galaxy socialise and play online with that username.
Yup ;). Well they can have it changed via support. What's the problem?
avatar
HypersomniacLive: GOG doesn't give a flying kite about the forum, they consider the regulars here dinosaurs that live in an isolated space and don't help with their plans. The place will be run down, but it won't matter to GOG so long as their social platforms hype their decisions and the masses embrace the Galaxy client and its social features. JMO
We should arm ourselves with shotguns and shoot at any damn kids that invade our threads.

Endre can give us lessons.

avatar
gunsynd: Well, the idiots are here. How many more ''friends'' threads do they need?
I don't even stop by the main forum page, I just jump here.

avatar
CarrionCrow: I've been watching a boxing anime called Hajime No Ippo. Haven't gotten around to Supernatural yet since it's got so many seasons.

Not sure what to do next, honestly. Still trying to figure it out.
That's a good choice, as far as sports anime go, Hajime no Ippo is an enjoyable one. The main problem I have with it, is exactly the same one I have with every single sports manga.

They all run on pure bullshit.

avatar
Grargar: I myself can't wait till all the Witcher 3 hullabaloo dies down. If CDPR underdelivers, though, it might take a loooooooooooooong time till it does so.
I don't think there's any risk of that, and even if it does happen, hype-glasses can distort reality for an equally long time, eg: Dark Souls 2, but I diggress.

avatar
Grargar: Unfortunately, that's going to keep on happening till GOG implements a different way of adding friends.
As opposed to, you know, participating in the forums, meeting people, chatting them up and eventually sending them a friend request.
'Cuz that'd be the sensible thing.

I don't quite follow the thinking behind this, and don't really care either, but apparently it's natural fir people to change their minds about their nickname ten times a day, hence it's imperative they can change it on a whim.

It's just one more sign of what's to come with GOG's steamification.

I've noticed with that show already, but it doesn't bother me. It feels like a fighting show with more of a reality base to start from.
I know shows exist for things like tennis, football, baseball, but I don't give a crap about any of those things, so there would be no appeal at all in watching them.
avatar
ElTerprise: They only Anime i had no problem with was Ghost in the Shell and Cowboy Bebop (but i only watched a handful episodes of it)
I haven't watched those two. I find them both to be too far in the pretentious side of things.

This coming from an Evangelion fan.

And it's precisely because of that, that I shy away from them. I had enough pretentious mindfuck with that one, thank you very much and GitS is a particularly serious offender in that category.

Well i could adjust mine at GOG to the other one i have in use but i don't see the necessity to do so...but i know people from steam who change their name constantly....

Yeah the people want another steam apparently and i really understand Moon's fears that this could actually happen...

Oh dearie me. No, no, I agree. As far as sports anime go, Hajime no Ippo is well and deeply entrenched in the realistic end of the bullshit scale (which should really tell you something). Sure there is bullshit, but it's there mostly for dramatic purposes and usually manages to achieve its purpose of making things more exciting, rather than painful to watch.

And on the opposite side, there's this bullcrap.

EDIT: There's also one for that game that's not rugby.

You might just have outgrown it.

I mean, I was a completely nuts for Dragonball back in the day. Now however...

I also don't get what's so fantastic about One Piece either.

Possible...but i was never really into it. I never liked Pokemon or Dragonball (sorry)...

adaliabooks: Yeah.. the sooner the game is released and forgotten about the better as far as I'm concerned...

I don't know which is worse, the "Friend me!" threads or the "My Witcher 3 preorder has disappeared!" ones... (or the more recent "The Witcher 3's graphics suck!" threads)
Ah right, the "they downgraded the graphics, so now it sucks" threads.

You know, you're just convincing me more and more that I do the right thing by not even looking at the main page.

Wait, what did I just read?

Did you just... compare those two animes?

Do I need to slap a bitch?!

It's already underway, but it's not really surprising, we're talking about years of training. And the generations that were born and raised within this online social stuff, can't really appreciate what GOG used to be before entering this arena.

And on that note, this old dinosaur needs to go lie down, back's complaining from all my sitting here and chatting with you.

Have a nice evening/ night, and I'll see you later.

No i didn't compared them. No need for a slap. I only listed them as examples (atleast that's what i was trying to do...)
I wouldn't dare comparing these too..............
Goodnight Hypersomniac.

Fucking King of Tennis...I audibly groaned when I learned that was a real thing.

As for Ghost in the Shell and Cowboy Bebop, I think there's more than one approach to the pseudo-philosophical thing.
There's stuff like Psycho Pass, which is based around the idea of a person being innately bad whether they ever commit a crime or not, which I find interesting, and then there's shit like the end of Evangelion, where I would bet money that if someone had taken a picture of the writer when they wrote that episode, it'd be a picture of a man with his head literally up his own ass.
