gunsynd: Yes.
GOG doesn't give a flying kite about the forum, they consider the regulars here dinosaurs that live in an isolated space and don't help with their plans. The place will be run down, but it won't matter to GOG so long as their social platforms hype their decisions and the masses embrace the Galaxy client and its social features. JMO

ElTerprise: *sigh* another friend adding thread....

Someone should create a 'Add-friend thread collection thread' considering the number of those threads...
IIRC, someone started such a thread, but apparently it's not enough to make a post within it, everyone must have their own one-post thread.

And now the debate over the most important issue of changing your username on the fly has started.

moonshineshadow: Sure it is fine :-) I would have edited my entry if that was possible.
You could ask Judas, he's helped me with editing an entry a couple of times.
Well, the idiots are here. How many more ''friends'' threads do they need?
avatar
ElTerprise: Yeah. But we already have lots of them because of these shady keysellers....

But there is supposed to be a subforum for Witcher III after the release, right?.................hang on...that would require those people to carefully look at the side...
I can't blame them for not using the subforums, as there is no easy way to find them anymore, if you are not familiar with the forums. It used to be that when you purchased a game here on GOG, that the subforum would become automatically visible when you viewed the community section. This function was broken sometime ago and now you have to add the subforum manually, which you might not know how to, if it is one of your first visits on the forum.

Well a new one for every newbie....*sigh*

I'm wondering if all the regulars shouldn't just migrate to one of the lesser used sub forums, away from all this noise and confusion XD

It sure is busy on the forum these days... :/
While I heartily approve of most of the new stuff, the increased convenience and popularity definitely has it's down sides...

Okay. Fair enough...but that doesn't release the newbies from reading on the forum before posting thousands of redundant threads...

Yeah seems so. Hmm...haven't seen the debate so far....so basically they want a feature to change the displayed name like Steam offers (the username/loginname can't be changed there)

CarrionCrow: Okay, time for a break. 8 shows out of 75 is a good start.

Wonder what I should play after Icewind 2's done. Thought about doing Icewind 1 EE, but that's a bit much since I just beat the original a few days ago.
avatar
ElTerprise: Hello. Might have missed that earlier. What show are you watching? Was is Supernatural?
Any other ideas on what you could play afterwards?
I've been watching a boxing anime called Hajime No Ippo. Haven't gotten around to Supernatural yet since it's got so many seasons.

Not sure what to do next, honestly. Still trying to figure it out.

I myself can't wait till all the Witcher 3 hullabaloo dies down. If CDPR underdelivers, though, it might take a loooooooooooooong time till it does so.

Unfortunately, that's going to keep on happening till GOG implements a different way of adding friends.

Maybe the open beta wasn't the best idea after all (or atleast the not fully implemented friend functionality)...

CarrionCrow: Hey, Hyper. =)

How's the weekend going?
avatar
HypersomniacLive: Hi Crow, how are you doing?

It's a mostly uneventful and lazy weekend so far, which is not necessarily bad. :-)
I'm trying to back up some things from my account before the current system gets scrapped.
Can't complain here, it's pretty peaceful overall. Just got back from helping a roommate with a sudden errand, but that's about it.

That works, some peace and quiet so you can recover a bit.

How much stuff are you trying to back up?

A boxing anime....huh..........

Still an RPG or something completely different?

Yeah. The current state of it wasn't really well thought out, was it?

Yeah.. the sooner the game is released and forgotten about the better as far as I'm concerned...

I don't know which is worse, the "Friend me!" threads or the "My Witcher 3 preorder has disappeared!" ones... (or the more recent "The Witcher 3's graphics suck!" threads)

moonshineshadow: *just dropping in for a round of hugs and waves*
I think I'll tone down my commitment to gog and reduce forum activity to this thread. At least for the moment I just don't really care anymore.
That's completely understandable. Nine times out of ten, other threads make my head hurt.
