LaPtiteBete: Hi, CC !! :)
Not bad, thanks !
I'm working hard (for a change) ! ^^
But now it's lunch time :) I'll be back !!
avatar
CarrionCrow: Okay, enjoy your lunch. Talk with you later on. =)
Thanks a lot :D
See you later !!
avatar
LaPtiteBete: Good morning/afternoon/other, everybody !!!
How are you feeling today ?

avatar
j0ekerr: Already been done, started in the 70's with the choose your own adventure books
avatar
LaPtiteBete: Do you speak about those ? The book where you're the hero... I loved that !!
:)
Good morning to you little owl. Feeling fine here.

And I most certainly did. Although those books all belong to the fighting fantasy series (from Steve Jackson who also made a little something known as ) which was a bit more complex, interesting, and better world built, than the simpler [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Choose_Your_Own_Adventure]CYOA series.

Stilton: Catharsis is good, with or without the squirrel suit. And to be honest, pixies get on my tits. I'd probably end up stamping them into the ground to shut the little morons up. This is feeling a bit like Warhammer....
avatar
CarrionCrow: You've already come up with something that sounds ten thousand times more pleasant than playing Soulstorm nine times. -laughs-
It certainly has some interesting imagery...

Dawn, and a ragged army wearing sequined squirrel suits approaches a hoard of pixies stretching to the horizon, the swell of their helium-voiced music inducing vomit with its saccharine sweetness. Yet our brave few march on...

And The Great Stamping begins....

At first it has little effect and the pixies hold the upper hand, but the rhythmic thump/crunch, thump/crunch begins to work, and by lunch time the pixies know they're on the decline. They try a different tack, interspersing their songs with cutesy giggles and skipping games.

But it doesn't work. The squirrel army have the bit between their teeth and, nearing exhaustion, they stamp on, until...

Midnight and victory! The pixies are flattened and crushed! Hope returns to the land! The giant mushrooms will perish and our heroic army in their sequined suits celebrate by eating acorns until they crap uncontrollably!

They have achieved the impossible and the stuff of legend is theirs...

Does anyone have Steven Spielberg's phone number?

Where is the talking pie? The story is not complete without a talking pie best friend.

That's going to be in the sequel...

And congratulations on your shoe gift! Mine only give me a bad semi-organic smell...

CarrionCrow: ***SNIP!***
Pretty much my first impression of them. I'm kind of sad to see that it doesn't change.

The campaign of the very first game was linear, and slow, and only allowed you to play with marines. But it was fun, with different objectives and rather good storytelling.

j0ekerr: STOMPIN' is the most widely recognized and acceptably orky way to deal with anyone who is not an ork. It can also be used on other orks if they're being annoying.

Stompin' is the perfect solution to all and any problems an ork may face.
Here's something for you to read when you get bored.
Part one of my nine-part "I hate Soulstorm and here's why" review.

At least it had an actual story. It might have been cliched as hell in spots (the corruption, the chosen one getting the super special blah-blah at the end to beat the big bad), but at least it had things like a beginning, middle, end, increased stakes, character arcs, all that stuff that Soulstorm doesn't have AT ALL.

Well, it can't be said you haven't given ample warning about what to expect. Well written, coherent, pitched with the right amount of anger/disappointment. I'll take it. Can you put it in a bag with my other items, please?

You're something of a shaman, going out there and selflessly experiencing things for the good of the tribe. The Welsh apparently had people called 'sin eaters' who would take on the badness in others and kind of exorcise them.

I'm rambling... time to put the straitjacket back on and chew my toenails...

Careful what you wish for....j0ekerr had it wishlisted and they ended up with a gift that no sane person would want. -laughs-

Not sure if I can approach it with such noble terms. It's just crap I need to get out of my head, and the only way to do that is to experience it and be able to say, "Shut the hell up, brain, I already beat it all!"

Old business....tired of remembering games from years ago that I didn't even like to begin with. So they need to be played and beaten.
We haven't see Hyper for a while. I'm missing that big blue eye....

They mentioned recently that they were having more problems than usual getting some rest.
Hopefully they're not here because they're actually able to sleep for a while.
