l0rdtr3k: *snuggles* Hello Battle Sister! The Empress isn't here so I'm allowed to hug the other side. Endre is still in the mankini and Hyper was watching me very creeply.
avatar
ddickinson: Good evening, little blob! *big hug*

How has your day been?

I think Endre is starting to like the mankini and now he won't take it off. But at least it is spring, and soon summer, so it's the right weather for it. As for Hyper, well he is always watching, that's what floating eyeballs do. :-)

ElTerprise: Uhm..i'm not going to sleep right now..that was for Fearful :P
avatar
ddickinson: Wrong! If Crows says you are going to sleep, then you are going to sleep. Do you see who's name is on the thread OP? That's right, it's Crows. His thread, his rules. Now get to bed! :-)
I'm beat.

CarrionCrow: -laughs- The joy of failed multitasking.

And yes, the section is extremely annoying, since there's already plenty of enemies to deal with.
Having some jackass banging on magic drums that spit out goblins riding wolves gets old.
No problem ;)
That really sound like poor design decisions...

moonshineshadow: *energising hug* My evening was ok. I read a book called Mythworld. Which started very nice, but after half of it, it turn weird and confusing and kept being that way until the end.
avatar
ddickinson: But at least it got you away from all those friend notification. :-)

*big return hug*
That is true *hugs* And now I know that I'll not buy more books in that series. Which I was considering during the first half :D
avatar
ElTerprise: NO....that calls for a revolution ;).
So are you starting a revolution becasue you have to go to bed, or because on the picture some half naked lady is telling you to and you just can't refuse? :-)

I have played the older games (Starcraft 1, Diablo 1 & 2, Warcraft 1-3) and they are some of my faviorite games, but I am not a fan of the newer games, in fact I thought they completely ruined the lore and soul of Starcraft. Just look what they did to Kerrigans character. Plus the whole DRM thing put me off, not that I was that interested in the new games anyway.

Why are you beat? Have you had a long day at work?

It's strange how many books are part of a series now. It seems that when ever I look on the Kindle store, the new books are always part 1 of (some number). Very few (relatively speaking) seem to be just standalone novels now. I sometimes think that this just damages the story, as the author is just padding the books to make them last longer so they can publish more volumes.

Not anymore. Revolution is called off. I'll stay here - without - going to bed and it would have been a french revolution in the first place ;).

Yeah that is often true. Sometimes it is really worth to have more than one book but sometimes you realise quickly that it is only dragging out the story.
What I like are series, who complete the story in the first book. And then in the second book there is another story with the characters, can even be directly after the first one from the timeline, but here also the story is completed in the book. (don't know if that makes sense, I am missing some words I would use in German)

Just four more points until you get another star. :-)

Boss' being a total jerkwad and giving me lotsa work because I'm the new guy.

It makes perfect sense, no worries. Some books do need several volumes to complete the story, but it just seems that so many just drag it on. And I know what you mean about stories being complete in each book, I would prefer that, each novel a stand alone story that can be enjoyed on it's own, but as part of a larger series. A series that would not putt off new readers to the series, but would also reward current readers by having familiar characters and things in each novel.

That's a shame. Are you still enjoying the work?

Exactly :-)
Sadly this can not be said about many series.

But I need to get some sleep now.
*good night hugs and waves*
