CarrionCrow: The problem is, myself and undoubtedly a lot of other people have downloaded game installers before Galaxy was a thing. As such, they don't have the Galaxy stuff included to make them compatible.
Right now, the only way to fix that is to download the updated installers again.Hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of them....-groans-

j0ekerr: I could have sworn I read that you could add them manually.

Much like adding a non-steam game to the client's library.
If so, it's not working for me, even attempting to do so one at a time.

Nah, it works like this:
Either download new installers through galaxy or install the games with your old installers, add them manually in galaxy and receive a "make galaxy compatible" update for them.
Galaxy will never catch on in this thread.

Unless we can also check a user's gogwiki page directly from it.

And I'm thinking, finally a wishlist. The ninja gifting will evolve until it becomes a Naruto storyline.

moonshineshadow: If you are refering to point 1: Auto update means that an installed game will update as soon as the client starts, if a patch is available. But like I said, you can turn that off and just get notifications about updates and do them manually.

Or if you are refering to point two, it means that if you want to add a game to gog galaxy which is already installed it needs to be made compatible and once you click on the "add game" button it will update. Nothing you can do about it.
Actually, I was referring to both points 1 and 2 combined. This is all going to take some getting used to...

My plan of action is already forming... at this point, if possible, I'll only Galaxify any MP games that I might want to play online, and leave the rest alone.

The most important thing for me, is if the Client is running, if we can use the chat feature without even being in a game. :)

Joy. That's like asking me if I want to get kicked in the groin, or have my facial hair set ablaze...-laughs-

Thank you for the info. Guess I'll start installing crap then.

You can open a chat with the friends you have in galaxy, that can be used anytime. Only problem is that people will need to be also using galaxy for that, which could become a problem if you want to talk to us :P

I think you need an *extra big cheer up hug* now :D
You could also just wait for a bit, because destro said they are still working on this feature, so perhaps it will getter, because lets be honest, it can't get much worse ;-)

The chat feature can be useful in terms of using it as a form of messaging without garbage lagtime, flag notices and all that crap.
Will it replace the thread? Not even close.

1.) I was just successful in adding a game to Galaxy right from my downloaded installer, most won't work that way.
2.) I have been unsuccessful at adding some games that are already installed to Galaxy.
All seems to be about what version of who you have, and if you hold your mouth just right. ;-)
You guys don't mind if I start adding some of you?? Gonna need some GoG friends.

-laughs- I'm not going to gut my setup yet, by any means.
Hell, I'm not even sure where all the games go post-unbundling, so the organizational side alone is all kinds of messed up right now.

Oh good, did not know they had already implemented importing directly the installer :-)

I think it will be a lot of guessing and trying what works :D
Lucky me that I am not really interested in it, and was just playing around with the client.

You might want to consider ritually sacrificing a goat while duct taping a twisted coat hanger to your modem to get the Galaxy reception more clearly. ;)

Indeed! :P

But it also means that people can nudge and poke each other when playing different games... if the chat is enabled.

Yes I mind. Go there if you want galaxy friends:

That didn't work.
