ddickinson: It will probably end up on a tablet with lots of in-app purchases. I wonder why they keep making such Warhammer games, when there are many better type of game genres that would work well with 40K (strategy, FPS, even a good adventure game (maybe as an Inquisitor or something like that).

Fair enough. But was it too much? It hopefully put a smile on some people's faces, so that makes it kind of worth while. But it was not too long.

Heresy! There is only one God-Emperor! Just for that, I will make you one of Owl's mindless Greenskins. :-)
Space Marine was good. Maybe it lacked a bit of variety but no one complained about Halo's eternally repeating corridor walls.

The idea of a WH40K themed chess game is not bad, it'd make a pretty nice tablet game. Certainly better than this abomination.

There's also this one which is more or less ok. Unfortunately it also has a price that's twice what I'd consider appropriate.

ddickinson: Well I need to get back to work, a few more hours before I can call it a day, and I have spend a little too long chatting on here.

Take care, and enjoy your day!

But you are Owl's bodyguard, you can not leave her side. :-)
But sometimes she lets me go for a walk if she's feeling alright.

adaliabooks: Wait... it's just Chess? :/
Way to waste a license...
Not completely,

I've been looking at some of the videos. There seems to be a RPG levelling element, not unlike that of a bloodbowl league. Although how the hell they pull that off is anybody's guess.

It's not that bad an idea, violent chess has been around for a really long time. This just expands hugely on the bloddbath and carnage part.

EndreWhiteMane: Probably not, I'll just play it via Steam and remember to put Stardock on my shitelist. ;)
avatar
Grargar: Since you need to create a Stardock account before you can play the game on Steam, you can still download a DRM-Free installer from the site.
You're right.
I already had a Stardock account but no installer.
Now that I've installed the game thru Steam and registered in-game I have one.
Very odd but thanks. ;)

I did. Also, the library level is pure heresy.

I did. A lot. I still do. It took me weeks to finish The Library because I couldn't play it for more than about 4 minutes a day without going insane.

Violent chess is fine (I remember Battle Chess :) ), but I have no idea how you add RPG elements and special moves etc to it...

On another note, I've gotten back into the swing of Jedi Outcast. I'm still fairly crap at it, but I've completed the first two levels at the base :)
When do I get my lightsabre and force powers again? I think it's soon but I can't remember.

Well ok, I exaggerated for dramatic effect. I wasn't trying to skew or bias anyone, honest. In fact, how dare you even suggest such a thing, I am offended good sir. Moi?! I'm innocent I say!

Ahem.

I remember some reviews that described Halo as a game with a great multiplayer, and a horrible single player campaign.

I never played it though.

I didn't find Space Marine repetitive but maybe a bit too straight-forward, and a bit hard to get into if you weren't all that familiar with the lore.
Pretty cool day for GoG!

I know I mentioned I might not be interested in Galaxy, but I DID just pick up Battlefront... Anyone want to persuade me to give it (Galaxy) a shot with some beer and Battlefront "beta testing" tonight? I'm pretty sure a couple people here picked up the bundle as well, and if I'm going to play with anyone I wouldn't mind it being over some friendly banter with fellow free-for-all-ers.

Is it confirmed that Galaxy will support Battlefront?

Unfortunately I don't haaaav... wait a moment.

We can put the crossplay feature to the test.

EDIT: Eating no-brand oreos, but with the white stuff in the middle substituted with chocolatey stuff.

HMMM CHOCOLATE!

I'm not sure, I was hoping someone who already fired Galaxy up for B2 would chime in. Ditto on the crossplay - that'd be pretty neat! We can actually beta test for GoG instead of me simply swearing at my monitor as yet ANOTHER snowspeeder trips up my AT-AT.
Hello and good evening, night, morning, day, afternoon... or Moin!

Current Galaxy-powered multiplayer games are Aliens vs Predator Classic 2000, Double Dragon Trilogy, Rise of the Triad (2013), and The Witcher Adventure Game.

Good evening toxicTom. All's fine there?

Ah okay so no Battlefront 2 yet? Or were you just referring to crossplay?

No, to Galaxy-enabled multiplayer games in general.
