ElTerprise: On another - more brighter - note. I really liked playing Guild Wars 2 today. And yes i know, that i'm late to the party but the game's really good.
So what class did you choose?

I went with a Sylvari Guardian. I suppose it's Guardian as i play it in german whereit is called Wächter.

Yeah that's right. Gurdians are a nice class especially for starting the game :-)

At the moment i feel more like warrior because of the heavy armor and the sword i'm using but it's good although i needed some time to get used to the movement system ingame.

Grargar: I actually seem to like TNT more so far, as it has new music. We'll see, though.

I'm using GZDoom, but have disabled anything that wasn't existent in the original Doom, like jumps or mouselook. I must say, though, that in some places mouselook would have been very useful (damn chaingunners!).
That's my one big gripe with Doom nowadays. The gameplay is still perfect, but it feels odd without vertical mouselook and wrong with it.
And i can remember that TNT having new music was a big plus for me too. While I like the original music very much (even in the Adlib/SB synth glory) I was getting sick of it after a while.

Have you ever played Memento Mori 1+2? Those are really great "wads" for Doom 2 that I can highly recommend.

Just a quick sliding tackle in your conversation ;).
Do i see that right that the only way to get Doom is via Steam?

I haven't played any custom wads as of yet, but if I do, I would prefer something like a total conversion. As great as Doom is, I'm getting a bit sick of all this high-tech/hell architecture. :P

Dropping by for a night hugs before my Starcraft and Diablo session.
Can't wait for senpai and Owl to show up.

Digitally, yes. Otherwise, retail is your friend.

Retail might be interesting in Germany because the game was indexed here (not anymore thankfully)....so Steam might be the way.
It really should come to GOG - but it's Bethesda, right?

Hmm. I wouldn't know. I can stare longingly at the boxes on my shelf in real life and just use the disk (floppy) images I made years ago... ;-)
Has anyone read Lovecraft? Have 2 of his short stories collections and I freaking love them.

Lucky you then i guess :). I had no chance of getting it when i was released (way too young there) and nowadays even after it was freed from index reatil might be difficult...

The Aliens TC was quite good back in the day. Memento Mori is very much in spirit of Doom, although it features new graphics and iirc new music.

<ruffles the little blob playfully>

When playing Starcraft, don't try to build up your base defenses too much, and make sure
you move out as soon as possible to capture resources, to keep the enemy from building up
their forces! ;)
