LaPtiteBete: Hi again, Stillton !! :-)
X-mas was good ; we've seen our families a lot. Eaten far too much, too. ^^
What do you do from a creative point of view ? Music ? Art ? Writing ? Others ... ?
I haven't made any good resolution yet...
I'd like to lose a few pounds (10 would be OK...), but I don't do any sport (walk ? maybe... since I can't run... I like to swim, but I'll never have the guts to go to the pool alone ; neither in any sports room, anyway :-(... hum... there is a long way to go !)
What do I do from a creative point of view....
Well, it used to be art - I went through art college - but art college put me off art! Until I went there I was happy doing my own 'thing' as I had since I was a young Viking, but the way they approached art wasn't right for me, so I kind of turned away from it. I was doing big abstract paintings for a while and then pen and ink work and illustration, but it was all a bit desperate because I think my visual art interest was disappearing and I didn't know it because I was struggling to find something I still liked but couldn't, which was kind of sad because there was nothing that pleased me enough to want to do it. The young Viking was gone.... You can cry here if you like ;-)
BUT!
The one amazingly good thing that came from art college was that I discovered writing. I wanted to communicate my ideas more directly than I could with a painting or illustration and writing was the perfect way of doing that, so it was all happy in the end! You can cheer here if you like ;-)
I still used painting as a way of making a living after I left college - I was a scenic artist at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden for a while, painting backdrops and scenery (and any performers who stood still for too long!) but I haven't done that in a long time.
So, to end a very long story, my creativity is writing, which I really enjoy.
As for exercise, walking is easy and amazingly good for you - it just depends how often you walk, how far you go and how quickly you get there. I used to be a gym instructor for a while, so I know that with the right diet and the right amount of exercise ten pounds will be easy to lose. You just have to decide you want to do it. And swimming is good too - once you're in the pool you're just another head bobbing along, so don't worry about not having the guts to go. If you like it, do it! Who cares what people might think?
