Looking a bit further, I'm quite sure it is not true. It pops up on many websites and lists of silly laws, which are almost all fake. Nuclear tests are actually still allowed in my state (still? jeez!! :-/)...

However... it really is illegal to fish with a crossbow here :-) (don't worry, a regular bow is fine! :-D)

I figured it would be fake, surly even you Americans would not allow people to own nuclear devices? And fishing with a crossbow? How barbaric! Just use a nuke, much more effective, except you can't eat the fish afterwards. :-)
