ddickinson: So it looks like the newer RPGs have changed your taste for action RPGs and made you see the bad elements of Icewind. Would you still recommend the game, or would you now perhaps advice people to start with another game if they wanted to enter the world of Balders Gate type RPGs?

Being indoors is quite nice, as it's very cold outside, but I do get tired of it and long to be working with my hands outside again. Plus I am having to sort some tax stuff and the people on the phone are never that helpful.

Are you looking forward to the weekend promo?
I think more than anything that Icewind is the game that people might've said they wanted in light of all the story and dialogue in Baldur's Gate 1, something a lot more combat and loot-oriented.
Problem is, action RPG's tend to bore the crap out of me.

I'd say the game's still valid if people want that kind of experience. At the same time, Icewind 2 does it better by providing more options for combat in the form of vastly increased party composition, as Baldur's Gate 2 does better than 1 by telling a larger, better story with more interesting characters.

Ah...thank you :).
Morning all!

I think GoG is stalking this thread... despite not applying for the Alpha, I just got invited to it this morning... :/
Something to do with disabling the temporary version that was in AvP and Rise of the Triad.
Oh well, looks like I'll jump in anyway :)

Then welcome to the galaxy :)

Perhaps it is just becasue you are older now. Some games I find are way too time consuming for me now, yet when I was younger that was never a problem. But who knows, perhaps games like Pillars have just spoiled you. :-)

Noooooo! Another one fallen the the lure of GOG and its evil Galaxy alpha. :-)

How are you today, anything fun planned?

Good morning. =)

That's a bit on the odd side, but hopefully you enjoy the program.

How's your day going?

Think they're mailing everyone who owns those games, I got one too, but I'm not too interested in trying it out just yet.

Hey everyone :)

Just a bit odd considering we were talking about it yesterday. I wonder if this means it's nearing a proper beta release?

I'm fine, nothing particularly fun planned today. Got a little bit of work to do, some prep for tomorrow.
Activision bundle for the weekend sale.

Only 60 percent off, but if you're not big on Star Wars, at least it's not that. =)

Sounds like a thrilling time. I can almost feel your excitement about it from here. -laughs-

A question - is your list up to date, by chance?

Some very good adventure games as part of the weekend promo, but no new games for me.
