Yep, but it almost never works. I've tried to reply to dd ten times to no avail. Going for eleven...
Sorry D, I cant seem to quote you.
Third time typing this post, I hate my phone. :p

I'm sure they will! And yes, I need a lot more stealth practice. :P we're going to see avengers: age of ultron. I've already seen it, but my sister hasn't yet.

Ooh, tasty cookies! *Quickly takes cookie and eats it*

How is your day?

ElTerprise: To some degree. Still reading and writing stuff for my presentation and my paper for university (so much to read)...and i plan to reformat my laptop finally this weekend :).
Well good luck with your presentation and your paper.

CarrionCrow: Can't complain here aside from feeling kinda bad about recommending Icewind 1 to people as I slog my way through the expansions.
I don't think I've gotten any smarter, but it feels like a combination of cynicism, annoyance and impatience are doing a really good job of making me look at it way more critically, to the point that I'm pretty sure it's never getting another replay when I'm done with this run.

As for plans, there's nothing lined up aside from the usual stuff, nothing too terribly exciting.

How are you doing today?
That's a shame. What do you think is making you look at the game that way, especially as you spoke very highly of it? Is it just showing its age compared to the newer RPG games?

I am good, thank you. A little tired, and I have another long day, but can't complain. I am inside for the morning doing paperwork and making some phone calls, so at least I can chat on the forum for a while. :-)

toxicTom: *big fat hug*

First of all I will battle chaos again. The kitchen sure looks like a battlefield right now...
In the background Trine 2 is installing, finished the first on Wednesday. The kids are playing nicely right now, Sun is shining but the air is rather cool and the yard is still dripping from last night's rain, that's why I postponed chasing them out to the afternoon. My wife is working on her stuff. Last night she got her first rejection from her applications... It was very hard for her.

Luckily I'm not a great fan of cookies. :-)
I wish you look, brave warrior, with you battle against the forces of Chaos. :-)

Your weather sounds a bit like it is here, sunny, but with a very cold wind, and all wet from the nights rain.

I am so sorry to hear your wife received a rejection letter. I hope she will not let it get her down too much, and I will keep my fingers crossed that she will have much better luck with her future applications.

*big virtual hug for Tom's wife*

Not a fan of cookies? You Germans really are evil. :-)

See above ^^ :-)
Good luck with beating the chaos. I'm sorry to hear that your wife got a rejection...

We have internet on the trains here in England as well, we have done for some time, although the signal is not always the best once you get into the open countryside.

Now worries, I know how annoying the forum can be at times. I hope you enjoy your day with your sisters.

My day is good so far, just enjoying some relaxing time indoors doing paperwork before I am outside again, and knowing my luck it will start to rain just as I go out. :-)

ddickinson: Well good luck with your presentation and your paper.
Thank you. But the presentation is in June. I only want to finish everything early and no procrastinate anything :).

How about just German men, or maybe just some Germans, or maybe it's just toxicTom who is evil? :-)

*passes Moon even more cookies*

It's just a lot more of a slog all the way around than the last time I played it.
Ultimately it's an action RPG, but the action is very slow-paced. Between hours of inventory management, melee enemies being able to beat me silly despite having the best armor in the game, magical enemies who send me back to the load screen every time they kill one of my team members in a way that I can't resurrect them, and a general lack of story that makes me think the combat/story balance is even further askew than I remember, it's beginning to get on my nerves a bit.

I know you're not a fan of being indoors constantly, but it sounds like a good, if temporary, change of pace in light of the crazy long hours you've been working recently.

So does that make Tom and Hyper evil, or just weird? :-)

Since they are both very nice persons, I would say they are just weird :P

So it looks like the newer RPGs have changed your taste for action RPGs and made you see the bad elements of Icewind. Would you still recommend the game, or would you now perhaps advice people to start with another game if they wanted to enter the world of Balders Gate type RPGs?

Being indoors is quite nice, as it's very cold outside, but I do get tired of it and long to be working with my hands outside again. Plus I am having to sort some tax stuff and the people on the phone are never that helpful.

Are you looking forward to the weekend promo?

I don't know, Hyper can be quite mean. :-)
