moonshineshadow: Yep, that clearly explains it. And it showed that some people are just resistant to whatever you tell or explain.

ddickinson: I only read a few bits, maybe I will read the rest this evening, I am sure it will put a smile on my face, the silliness level of those threads often does. :-)

But don't let those kind of people stop you from being your wonderful helpful self. They are not worth it, do no let people like that change your kind heart.

*Even bigger muddy hug*
I think my hugs are as muddy as yours now *muddy return hug* :D

And you are right, once you stop being involved, these threads become funny because of all the silly things posted :P

FearfulSymmetry: Okay, I checked it out and it might be a bit difficult to follow along without them. If I gave you a non-spoilery explanation of what you're missing you'd be fine for most of the game, but there's an essential cutscene near the end. You'll likely be able to pick up on what happened from what will still be in the game, but it's a kind of lame way for the main reveal to go down.
I can totally imagine! :)

Yes, that's really difficult, and sometimes you just don't feel like playing. Sometimes I even return to playing games I've already finished just because I can play them quickly for a bit without losing track of what's going on. I'm planning to catch up on my new games over my summer holidays, though, when I'll have more time.
Damn! I knew I was going to miss a lot. And I'm trying every solution from getting the dll file to other stuff.
Guess that no movies' the way to go then.

l0rdtr3k: Bored and sad that KOTOR is a pain to get running without turning off the movies because it's my first time playing so I want every detail I can have.
Have you tried the sub-forum, or contacting GOG support regarding the movies not working?

I sometimes just pick a game at random to play. It often works out quite well. It's a little slow at first, but once I get into the game, I am fine and glad I picked it. Usually I just narrow it down to the genre(s) I am interested in playing, then pick a game from the list at random.

l0rdtr3k: Won't we miss too much in terms of story?

ddickinson: Thank you. I will be fine, but I can't wait to get home and into a nice hot bath.

I know how you feel about finding it hard to choose a game. I have lots of shiny new games, but too little time to play them. The free time I do have I spend with my partner, or I am just too tired to really enjoy the game, so I put it off for another day.

sorry to shoulder in here, but it upsets me too, to hear some people don't get a flawless experience of kotor...
what's that about, isn't there any patches or something, the game being of older sort...?

btw. is it correct English to say shoulder in? :) I don't know where I got that one.

j0ekerr: Sorry to hear that, I can't really sympathize because I only get 2 months of cold weather a year, and even then it's not that cold, and not very wet either.

Grab a cup of hot cocoa and purge heretics for the emprah! That should make you feel better.
Good afternoon!

I am fine, we are used to the weather here. How are you, have you had a good day, anything nice planned for the evening?

I think we need to be careful with all this mud and hugging. Endre might get the wrong idea and think we have started an all girls mud wrestling event in the thread. :-)

*Another quick muddy hug before Endre sees*

Let me know if you want a non-spoilery explanation for the cutscenes you're missing in the first half of the game.

Maybe I should try that! I'm thinking about continuing Broken Sword, which I started a while ago.

Honestly, I don't quite know what's causing it. I have an intel HD graphics card, and I've heard other people with problems with those cards, but I think it can occur with different cards as well. I've tried pretty much every solution I could find, but nothing would fix the problem. I'm always ready to try more things, but by now I've sort of given up on seeing the movies while I have this computer.

Went to the subforum and no luck there.

It is not a saying I have heard before. Saying "sorry to butt in" is more common, or simply just "sorry to intrude/interrupt".

It's worth a try. Sometimes making yourself pick a game at random and sticking to it is a good way to get over the whole issue of not being able to pick a game. As long as it's a genre you are in the mood to play, then you should end up enjoying the game once you start.

Which Broken Sword game are you planning on playing?

Have you contacted GOG support? I hear they are very helpful. Or maybe start a new topic in the sub-forum and see if anyone in the community can offer any help?

Yep, that's probably good advice, I'll give it a shot next time! :)

The first one. I own them all but I haven't yet played them, so I figured I really should.

oh okay. it could be someone with proper skills could write a specific fix for this situation... Too bad if it's not available now.

The first game is probably my favourite of the whole series. Are you planning on playing the original, or the remastered version?

That's true. But you never know when he could just turn up. :-)

How was your day at work? Do you have a nice relaxing evening planned?

I am sure they will answer when they get around to it. With all the sales, new releases, and the current Star Wars promo, I bet they are swamped with support requests.

*random hug*

Right. But I'm trying to be poetic! Maybe I need to read more poetic stuff in English :)

My day at work was normal. Nothing special. Simulating and preparing a paper. Nothing planned for the evening. And you?
