ElTerprise: I think the term gymnasium in germany comes from those schools which offer greek and latin too. In most cases german and english are probably enough as ther are a few more german speakers :P.
Yes, just a few. :P

Well, I think I'll be off for now. Have a good day, everyone.

Bye! *hug*
Hi, all! Whee, lots of new games and game updates and sales... while I'm broke. :P At least until tomorrow, at which point I may have to give in on something.

Looks like I'll finally be playing Broken Age today, as it's finally complete. Yay!

I'm not sure why I'm still eyeing the Star Wars bundles (specifically the Saber Bundle, since I could complete it for $18), because none of those games are especially high up on my radar. I think the fact that my husband is a Star Wars junkie (even if he's not much of a gamer) is the reason.

I'm also thinking about picking up Lords of Xulima, since it's finally on sale, but I'm not convinced about the price yet, especially since I still have Pillars, which I've hardly touched. *sigh* Decisions, decisions. :)

What all have you guys been looking at/playing/planning on getting from these sales?

Choice is what it's all about! Picked up the Saber Bundle, it was less than the 3 wishlist items I had that way.
Hi there, how've you been? :-)

GOG made these sales for me to save money ;-) No interest at all in the Star Wars games or Lords of Xulima.
Hi everybody! *hugs *

Finally my last workday in my old job is over and it's kinda strange feeling after 8 years. But I'm looking forward to start my new job on Monday very much! It's gonna be awesome!

I just decided to skip the sale. I have the complete Saber bundle on Steam and haven't touched any of the games yet. And completing the Blaster bundle would cost me just 10 euros less than Pillars of Eternity - and that's the game I really want to play. So I'll keep my backlog the size it is at the moment.

Good evening *returns hug*

Congrats on finishing your last day :)

Understandable when you already own the games on Steam...

Yup. Neuer could only save the ball behind the goal line and the BVB had the chance to get another goal...

Beating Bayern would be a second thing to celebrate today. I'll share a bottle of good Cava with my wife when I return home...

Aside from your husband's potential interest, I'm figuring you're scoping that one out for the same reason I am - because it's really frigging cheap, especially considering that the general thought was that it'd be a long, long time before so much of that franchise got discounted so heavily.

As for Lords of Xulima? I've played a bit of that, and I've played a bit of Pillars, and Pillars makes Xulima look like dog shit compared to it.

Pillars is interesting, it has variety and clarity, your main character isn't an incompetent plant picking halfwit like the main character in Xulima is, you actually know what the hell all your skills and abilities are, there's an actual difficulty curve, you're not endlessly harvesting grain as a way to make money in the beginning, you're not endlessly dying to monsters unless you're playing a wizard or cipher with no backup trying to take on a ravenous asshole bear.

Ultimately, Xulima is something you play when you want to hurt yourself.
Pillars is something you play when you love things like Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale and Planescape and want something in the modern day that's fresh while still reminding you of the older games that you love.

From what I've played of the two? Pillars has a better story, better music, better gameplay, better flow, a better feel, a WAY BETTER difficulty curve, and the degree of variation you can have for your main character blows Xulima out of the water.

I haven't played Pillars, but Crow's assessment of Lords of Xulima is pretty spot on.

I'm really tempted with the Sabre bundle, but there are a load of games in the bundle I probably wouldn't touch much and I already have too many games that I haven't touched...
So I'll probably pass, I'd imagine these bundles might pop up again, or the games will be discounted again in the future so it's not that desperate.
