Ixamyakxim: Well those are some nice little bundles eh?
avatar
GhostwriterDoF: Whilst it is a good sale, and a Stacking Promo to get the best prices, at least they gave us time to think about it carefully before spending our coin...
avatar
Ixamyakxim: I missed that part - how long does it last?

*another edit - nevermind I always forget I can click the banner and get a countdown most times
Greetings! :)

From the release Thread...

"Grab your blaster, wield your saber, and celebrate the days counting down to May the 4th with us! The entire shebang will last until Thursday, May 7, 6:59 AM GMT."
Star Wars always gets the spotlight.

But what about towel day?

GhostwriterDoF: Whilst it is a good sale, and a Stacking Promo to get the best prices, at least they gave us time to think about it carefully before spending our coin... and get a payday somewhere in there, for most of us. Then again, they could sneak in a new release or two before the end of the week to add to the dilemma of choosing...
New releases? Are you kidding? They can't be that greedy ;)

j0ekerr: I remember more Hulk Hogan's and the Ultimate Warrior's back and forth with the "championship" belt. And Sergeant Slaughter's famous face-heel turn.

Even though the fights might be better choreographed nowadays I feel the wrestlers have none of the personality. Who could forget Randy Savage, or the Bushwhackers or even Ted DiBiase.

Or maybe I'm just not 10 years old anymore.
I think you're right about the personalities, it was more low budget but a bigger show because of it. The Arena we went too was pretty small as well, so when they slapped each other, you could hear it clearly. :D

The wrestlers would walk around in the isles between the matches, so you could talk to them, or yell at them up close and personal if you were walking around getting food and beverages (people would throw full sodas, or beers and half eaten hot dogs at the wrestlers during the matches sometimes).

They were all larger than life in more ways than just physically. I've stood next to Andre the Giant, he was big, but I remember this guy, King Kong Bundy, wow! was he large, his back was like a wall of flesh... heh!

Whilst they were choreographed bouts, sometimes things went wrong, or two of the wrestlers didn't like each other for real, and the fights did get out of hand occasionally. Mr. T would show up too and sit in the regular seats too. And once in awhile Cindy Lauper would do mini concerts.

All right, need to run some errands. Have a good day, everyone. =)

See ya later.

ddickinson: Will you be working long hours for a while, or will you be back to regular hours soon?
I sure hope it will go normal soon, but the prospects aren't too bright. Next big chunk of my project is in the works and the customer is impatient. I sure wish they would pay accordingly, but no such luck. On the other hand, the project is too big to drop it...

I guess, at least, you've got them where you want them (the customer, not the project). :D

j0ekerr: Sorry to burst your bubble but...
avatar
ddickinson: I should have know. The internet has made it nearly impossible to make up words now. :-)

avatar
j0ekerr: Quick! She showed an opening! Ninja gift her!
avatar
ddickinson: Erm, no. The reason I only own one game is because that is the only game I want. If it is not on my wishlist, then do not gift it to me, just in case it's a game that I do not actually want. That would only make me feel horrible for either accepting a game I would never play, or have to refuse a gift that someone paid good money for.
So we can gift you if the gift is in your wishlist? Check you PM. It is too late to go back on your words now.
Star wars sale it is then :D

I'm pretty tempted by the saber bundle, not everything there is stuff I want... but Jedi Knight 2 and 3!
Plus a couple of other games that I have wishlisted (presumably because I liked the look of them as they are not one's I've played)...
But I already have a load of games from Insomnia I haven't got around to playing yet... :/
At least I have a few days to think about it.

toxicTom: Snip
I see congratulations are in order as you won one of the honourable mention slots in the Pick A Loop contest :)
Also, finished the (main) part of the manual and had a good go at Rebellion the other day. Thanks for that one, I can really see myself enjoying it. Probably have to start again though as in my first play through I had just started getting savaged by the Empire...
I bought the Saber bundle. Which game from that should I start with? (count KotOR out, as I already played that)

Republic Commando is fairly short in the time it takes to complete, and is separate from the usual Star Wars games. It might be a good one to start with, if you intend to play them all.

I can only really suggest Jedi Knight 2 as its the only won I've played significantly, but it's a seriously brilliant game. Unless my nostalgia gland is tricking me. I certainly remember having a lot of fun with it.
Hello again everyone *hugs and waves*

Back home :).

toxicTom: Hmm...
Yeah i know but i meant official releases like the never finished Into The Fire

Second that. Jedi Outcast is a really great game. And Jedi Academy while not on par with its predecessor is still a very good game :).

Do you have suggestions on what should be on sale on that day?
avatar
BillyMaysFan59: Yay!!! A May 4th Star Wars sale! My first wishlist entry to be fulfilled ;D
Congrats :D.

akhliber: I gifted one of the bundles to myself and wasn't interested in two of the games... as I've been hanging out and enjoying the company in this thread lately, I figured I'd see if any of you would be interested in a code for the following two games:
Star Wars: Starfighter
Star Wars: Dark Forces

Just shoot me a PM if interested. If I get several requests I'll just pick one at random in a bit (have to step away from the computer a bit but will return shortly)
:)
You deserve a lot +1s for that generous offer :).

Edit: *sigh* stacking conversations in one post went wrong...damn doublepost
