Star Wars Sale? Urgh... I want a weekly staff pick.
Hopefully there will be a weekend sale in addition to this.

Well I had better get back to work.

I have not seem Moonshine today, I hope she is doing okay. If she happens to come by while I am away, please give her a big hug from me.

Take care, everyone, and try to be good. :-)

Edit: Never mind, I caught her before I left. But feel free to give her some hugs yourself. :-)

Gnostic: Your wish is granted. Look here

You can download the games directly from stardock store and not download from steam. But beware, newer games like Sins of the Solar Empire Rebellion is steam only. Sins of the Solar Empire Trinity and older however can be download from Stardock directly.

EndreWhiteMane: Sadly the one sold in the Stardock store requires Steam also. :/
Thank you for looking though. ;)

Morning all.
I feel sad that you do not trust me. Do you think I do not actually test it out?

Here I attached pictures of how I play it without steam, from how to download to actually play it offline, no strings attached.

Note that after you click on the default icon to play the game, you will be ask to register at stardock. If you don't want registration whatsoever, you can actually bypass this by going to the exe that you installed the files as shown in the picture no need steam 8. Set that as your new shortcut and you do not ever need to bother with anything online at all. Like GoG installer, you only need to download it once and install to your heart content.

MOON! *Big hello hug*

I am just going back to work, but I just wanted to give you a big hug before I left. I was a little worried as I had not seen you today. I hope you are doing okay?

I will try to get time to chat a little later.

*More hugs*

ddickinson: Thank you, my weekend was indeed wonderful. I am mostly dry now, but still muddy. It had been raining a bit over the weekend and that always means mud. Not that I mind, nothing wrong with a little mud, getting dirty is part of working outdoors on a farm.
Well, mud isn't really "dirty", unless it is "City mud" (who knows what's in it...).

Good heaven's! The Bundles are Stacking Promo's... How diabolical!

But... I can complete the Sable Bundle for only 8 dollars (and change). But... do I really want to get games I'm not interested in getting in the other Blaster Bundle for the three that I do want, but then have the full Collection?

At least we have until May 7th to decide... heh!

*return hug* Just feeling a little meh... hoped that whatever they tried to hype here yesterday would cheer me up... but it is a star wars sale... So I decided to complain here since they would probably lynch me if I wrote that in the official thread ;-)

I'll buy it there and give it a try, nothing to lose.
It's just that when you go to the 'buy' page it says that it requires the 'free steam client' twice on that page.
Thanks for the info, I'll likely buy it there on Friday. ;)

Hi everybody! *hugs*

Star Wars Sale! That's awesome! And all games I want in the blaster bundle... but a bit expensive. I think I will have to consider that for a while :)

avatar
akhliber: I gifted one of the bundles to myself and wasn't interested in two of the games... as I've been hanging out and enjoying the company in this thread lately, I figured I'd see if any of you would be interested in a code for the following two games:
Star Wars: Starfighter
Star Wars: Dark Forces

Just shoot me a PM if interested. If I get several requests I'll just pick one at random in a bit (have to step away from the computer a bit but will return shortly)
:)
Very generous! +1 for the offer!

GhostwriterDoF: Hey! I used to go the WWF fights back in the '80's live. It was good fun. I saw Roddy Piper fight Andre the Giant 3 times even. :)

And saw Star Wars when it was first shown at the movie theatre when I was 12 years old. heh! I'll never forget see that on the big screen for the first time.

Star Trek (especially the '60's show) was always a bit cheesy though, that is what made it uniquely entertaining.
I remember more Hulk Hogan's and the Ultimate Warrior's back and forth with the "championship" belt. And Sergeant Slaughter's famous face-heel turn.

Even though the fights might be better choreographed nowadays I feel the wrestlers have none of the personality. Who could forget Randy Savage, or the Bushwhackers or even Ted DiBiase.

Or maybe I'm just not 10 years old anymore.

Well, for Galactic Civilizations 3 you need steam, but Galactic Civilizations 2 does not. Sadly Stardock has been corrupted by steam so their post impulse (Gamestop) games uses steam.
Yay!!! A May 4th Star Wars sale! My first wishlist entry to be fulfilled ;D

ddickinson: Is Russia also not the same when it comes to piracy, if not worse? That is why they get cheaper games, after all, to try to entice them to play nice. But I can understand about the Spanish speaking world being fragmented, with many of the countries that speak Spanish not having the best economy or infer-structure for PC gaming.
I should have added that the situation is changing (I did, but too late), particularly thanks to digital distribution sites and the growing up in both age and income of the target demographic. A lot of people swear by Gaben, because of convenience and because of the low prices of the sales.

Still, there's a reason why FIFA is one of the best selling games, every bloody year.

I don't think it was ever as bad as in Russia. Although a common activity back in the ZX era was to go to the sunday street markets and exchange/buy cassette tapes.

Good Day (morning, afternoon or evening) :)

<return welcome hugs>

Whilst it is a good sale, and a Stacking Promo to get the best prices, at least they gave us time to think about it carefully before spending our coin... and get a payday somewhere in there, for most of us. Then again, they could sneak in a new release or two before the end of the week to add to the dilemma of choosing...
