You can download the games directly from stardock store and not download from steam. But beware, newer games like Sins of the Solar Empire Rebellion is steam only. Sins of the Solar Empire Trinity and older however can be download from Stardock directly.

Good, glad you had fun :)

Just a normal weekend for me really, nothing special but nice anyway.

Depends in your definition of fun... you missed Valve trying to charge for Skyrim mods on Steam and causing a whole hell of a stink, including a lot of new members here, and then promptly back peddling and scrapping the whole idea...

But as for GoG there is supposed to be something big today, so you're just in time :)

A normal weekend is not too bad, as long as you get to spend some nice with with someone special then it's great. :-)

So Steam trying to squeeze even more money from games, sounds like something Steam would do. I imagine it would be like the Apple AppStore, people stealing, overcharging, and just abusing it all. Would a donation system not have been better? Oh well, it's good to hear it has been scrapped, for now, at least until they can put a better spin on it, or maybe start it again with a smaller or newer game.

Something special on GOG? Typical. I will be quite busy later today, so I will probably miss all the fun. Do we have any clues at to what this something special is?

Fun... Fun... hmm... I've literally been sitting here thinking for about 8 minutes now and can't think of anything... so... if there was anything more fun that usual, I probably I missed it.

Not at all, there's nothing I'd rather do than spend time with my partner :)

That's pretty much the whole situation in a nut shell. I have to say I'm somewhat impressed at how quickly they dropped it, they must have been seriously worried... but hopefully the damage is done and people realise just what kind of money grapping arseholes Valve have become. And no doubt they will revive the system when a suitable new game comes out..

Not sure, but I'm guessing releases, although they didn't do a sale yesterday and hinted at something for today so it could be a bit of both...
