King's Quest VI was my favorite for over 20 years. Today, it moved to second place.

What is your greatest?

I'm not sure I have one. I know it sounds silly, but I don't really have a favourite game of any genre. Different games have different meanings to me, for example, if I was to base it on nostalgia, I would have to say Simon the Sorcerer, if I was to base it on the most recent I played that I really liked, then it would have to be I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream. But these can change depending on my mood or as I play newer (or thanks to GOG, older) adventure games.

This might be silly, though - I am the same way with all but two genres. I have a favorite adventure and a favorite FPS. Any other genre, and I couldn't name favorites or rank games if my life depended on it.
I don't know why I rank adventures and shooters.

There are some games that I can pick a favourite, but not many, and many of these games are my favourite due to nostalgia, which again, can change. What is your favourite FPS? I do not play a lot of FPS games, usually just when my brother visits, we play a life each, or a level each, which ever is more fair to the poorer player (me). :-)

No One Lives Forever is my favorite FPS. Nostalgia is a factor for sure, but it is also just a really unique game that still feels fresh. I have never found a game quite like it.

Off topic... My family just spontaneously started singing "You've Got A Friend" by James Taylor in the kitchen...

Not even NOLF 2?

I have never played No One Lives Forever, it's a shame it's not on GOG. The last FPS I played was Chaser (which is very hard, me and my brother died, a lot), my next FPS will be the first Stalker game, which someone kindly gifted me for Christmas.

I have not heard that song for some time. Did they have the radio or television on? Sometimes I get part of a tune from an advert or a t.v. show and it can get me singing the song, even if I don't realise it.

No. My brother just mentioned out of the blue that he recently started liking James Taylor, when he didn't really like him in the past. Next thing I hear, three people are harmonizing around the table.

That would be the closest, but it didn't feel quite as epic as NOLF 1 to me.
I liked the variety of NOLF 1's missions more. NOLF 2's missions were mostly down-to-earth (with the exception of being inside a tornado.)

XD I was just going to mention, kitana fight inside of a house inside of a tornado.
Ultimately though I guess you are right. The 1st does seem to have a wider variety of genres whereas #2 is a pure shooter beginning to end, minus boss fights of course.
