tinyE: I thought you said you were watching baseball, AL is NOT baseball! :P

Ixamyakxim: I'm a huge fan of NL baseball and the way the manager has to juggle pitching changes vs the needs of the batting lineup at any given moment; especially when they get into the 5th+ inning of a tight game with a chance to score some runs. I also LOVE that both leagues are different as it's great to watch AL managers have to deal with the lack of a DH and NL managers / pitchers adapt to the "longer" AL lineups. The day The Commish makes the DH mandatory for both leagues will be a sad day for me.

l0rdtr3k: It's time to expand dong. And TinyE will help me achieve it!*grabs TinyE*

Ixamyakxim: I'm going to assume this is something, ah... lost in translation. Yeah, that's it... ;)

penumbren: On a gaming note, Desktop Dungeons is just as much fun as I thought it would be. :)
avatar
Ixamyakxim: I've been torn on this one. Much like the space based one (The Pit I think it's called?) I go back and forth on whether or not I think it would be fun as hell or tedious. One of these days, when my "games I want to play" and "games I want" lists are a bit shorter I'll have to find out.
Don't you love teh interwebz?
But I kid,twas a meme reference.
Could somebody please tell me who Robert Downey jr. is? The girlfriend of Iron Man in the Avengers movie?

Sword of the Stars: The Pit. *nod* I have it, but I found myself bored with it. I'll give it a try again at some point, but I think I'll be using a wiki when I do, because part of what was bugging me was the crafting/recipe stuff, as well as a fairly high difficulty due to the sheer randomness of what you find - as is typical of a roguelike, but noticeably frustrating with SotS:TP. So far, DD has been much more enjoyable, but that's probably at least partly because it's made for 10-30 minute playtimes, so it's easy to quit before frustration sets in. It's also much less focused on crafting and has more of a mini-town-management/world map thing going on.

penumbren: He also has a line in one of the first Ultimates comics, wherein newly-awakened Captain America is apologizing for breaking his nose (after freaking out upon being reawakened in the modern day), and his comeback is, "Don't worry about it - it's been smashed more often than Robert Downey, Jr."

Ixamyakxim: *edit to add: LOL that's great - and this was well prior to the first Iron Man film? If so, what a perfect bit of foresight. I admit that while I have a tiny bit of knowledge of comic characters I've never really read them, so that's a bit funny to me as I find RDJ's Iron Man / Tony Stark to be fantastic.
RDJ is Tony Stark, I'm convinced. Iron Man is my favorite comic character, so I'll admit to bias, but I just can't see anyone else pulling that character off. At least, not so long as they base it on Ultimates!Tony - if they ever swerve more toward the normal Marvel universe, RDJ is actually too over the top. 616!Tony is a dedicated businessman and routinely wallows in self-hatred/angst/doubt to an extent that I just can't quite see him pulling off, after establishing the MCU character as he has.

Ultimate Nick Fury was introduced in 2001 - here's a link to his Marvel wiki page, with a good portrait. Also, see attached for the random pop-culture joke that I mentioned above - it was published in 2002. (I didn't read these until after I'd seen the first IM movie - I darn near actually fell off our couch, laughing at this.)

Did you know that in the AVALANCHE hideout after the bombing mission in FFVII it seems that the news reporter on the TV screen is an Al-Bhed reporting about Sin? :b
