Yes it was really nice :-) You should go see it if you have the opportunity.

Not sure exactly why I quoted that. Maybe because it's a quote that should be remembered more often.

CarrionCrow: Good evening. =)

Feel free to hang out if you like. There are a lot of good people here.

blogstory: That is both thoughtful and helpful, and I appreciate your effort in starting this thread.

I have a game issue that I hope GOG can address but perhaps the community of gamers here can point to some non-GOG help that would also be great.
I am desperately seeking a sci-fi galaxy merchant/exploration game that really is not about the killing.
Starflight 2 fit that requirement and I am truly stumped to find a galaxy roaming merchant/explorer since.
I thank GOG for offering "Space Colony" but it is more like a biodome sim rather than a space exploration, galactic merchant adventure game.

Are there any suggestions for a space merchant and exploration game?

CarrionCrow: I'm just a person who spends a near-insane amount of time at their computer.
The people here are what make the thread.

In regards to your question, Wing Commander Privateer is coming to mind. If I'm remembering correctly, you can be a merchant in that game. Might be worth a look.
CarrionCrow,
I viewed a few Let's play WCprivateer and I have many reservations about this type of game. WC is a combat war zone game, sure it allows delivery missions, but is a galactic battlefield with war profiteering. Not something that interests me. I was shocked that even the "merchant guild" has bounty hunting missions. The best I can say about what I have seen is WCPrivateer is a war game with bounty hunting, scouting, patrolling, and delivery/pickup missions. Deliveries and pickups does not make a merchant even though the game developers name them a merchant guild.

Maybe I have not seen a veteran player role playing a Merchant guild master in Wing Commander Privateer, and have missed a rare game feature, but for now I will keep looking for a more trading/Merchant centric galaxy game.

Thank you for the suggestion.

I really want to. Hopefully with my family at some point this year. But it will be in german then i guess because there is no english version available in germany. And travelling to Basel is not an option at the moment i think ;).

Yeah that would be a bit far just for a musical ;-)

But only a bit ^^. By the way. I've just reserved 'Sturmklänge' as an e-book in the public library. Unfortunately they only have small selection of the books form Sanderson and the books you recommended from him only partial available. This one will be available for me at the beginning of may. I'm looking forward to it :).
Hi everybody! Just dropping in briefly before work. *hugs*

Actually don't know any similar SciFi game, as the ones inspired by Elite - like Privateer - have a bigger share of spacefights. If you wouldn't mind another scenario - I remember Starflight 2 to feel a bit like Pirates!. Perhaps you like that one, although I might be mistaken - it's been more than 20 years ago I played Starflight 2 on my C64 :)

And here is a picture of the Cat Bureau incase anyone is wondering where you can hire the little detective cat to solve your problems.
Hi *waves*. Glad to hear that it worked :).

Good time of the day to you ladies and entities.

Interesting mid-week sale on the humble store right now. Unfortunately, all but one are steam keys. So I'll hold off on System Shock 2 until it shows up discounted here, thank you very much.

Btw Eiterprise, how's your GW2 experience so far?

That's it! I've spent hours trsding without being engaged in a single fight! Just don't try X:Rebirth - it's supposed to be a buggy mess!

Moin, how are you doing?

Haven't had the time to play it. Had a power outage this morning when it was still finishing the download... *sigh*

Yeah there are some interesting games on sale but the only i'm interested in was Sniper Elite 3 and i think i'll wait for a bigger discount on that one...
