Ixamyakxim: Poked around in the subforum a bit, saw a few pointers, saw some people that had some of the same issues, saw there might be options to deal with them. I'm going to work away at it a bit more, as the "core" (at least I think it's the core) gameplay of looting and shooting with a space ship is right up my alley. We'll see where I end up!
Yeah, we can find some good stuff in those sub-Forums. :)

I hope you'll keep us posted and let us know (after you get things worked out) how you are faring with your new plan of attack.

superstande: Good Morning 'Vry-On'
Wish I had time to participate more here (or maybe it's best I don't :) )
Been spending strange days with my old Acer laptop -> my wife's current.
... My wife is the owner no. 4 of that Acer, so it's really second hand...
Also there has been odd 'power-offs' and oh man all kinds of things.
Maybe it has A Ghost In The Machine? :)
Deus Ex Machina...
Good Morning and welcome back.

It does sound as if you should probably get a new one for her, or at least a newer second hand one that hasn't been used by so many hands... :)

As far as the Ghost in the Machine... it wasn't me... heh!

BillyMaysFan59: @Icewind Dale

The only magical weapon I have is that phase dagger thing, and it seems pretty weak. I'll need to either use mage spells to take down big ghosts/mummies or see if I can afford an enchanted weapon at the blacksmith.
If I remember correctly, its only decent bonus is against spectral undead.
(Amazing how much this addled brain seems to remember about that game...-laughs-)
A +1 sword or hammer should be the cheapest options while still having a bit of damage to them.

Been spending strange days with my old Acer laptop -> my wife's current.
Started making this unnerving 'clack-clack' sound of a sudden yesterday.
Rebooted, and it kept clacking and clicking, "operation system not found," or such came up.
It had Linux Mint... Kept it on for all night, as I thought it might be validating (or something).
Today...
The clacking is gone and the Linux Mint is back :)
Might. Be. A. Time. To get a replacement for my wife, eh?

Good morning. =)

Yes, it seems like that laptop is finally starting to die completely.

ZenWan: Hi to you, Crow, if you're still nailed to your keyboard. :-)

You liked the view of the cliffs that I posted, so I took my camera with me yesterday, and here are a couple more shots of the cliff walk taken in very different weather.
I like watching seagulls - there are 2 perched on a rock in the one shot, although they are hard to spot amongst the sea, rocks and clouds.

It's a beautiful place, refreshes your soul and makes you ready to face another day.
Which reminds me - I could do with your diesel truck when Penumbren is finished with it, thanks Crow. ;-)

GoG, as most have said, is really giving a lot of trouble. I'm trying to download games as well, to get my backups sorted, and adding these pics was a real pain. :-( Hope they post.

CarrionCrow: Good morning. =) (I'm almost always drawn back to the keyboard...)

It looks beautiful there. Thank you for taking the time and going to the trouble of taking the pictures and then fighting with GOG to post them. I really appreciate that.

-laughs- It's always around, in spirit if nothing else. ;)

How are you doing today, aside from all the difficulties with GOG not wanting to work properly?
Good morning, Crow, glad you liked the photos - you are always so kind, it's a pleasure to do something that makes you smile - hope it did. :-) I will post more pics anytime you like, don't want to overdo it and have people groaning, but the place is so very beautiful. I use many of the pics as my desktop wallpaper, very calming.

Hope you got some proper sleep, a few hours at least?

I'm now using a downloader to help with getting my games backed up, as the GOG downloader stubbornly refuses to work for me (a problem with Microsoft .NET, Support says, but nothing I have tried helps the problem. But the downloader does a good job of speeding things up, it's a Firefox addon if anyone is interested.

LaPtiteBete: Hi Zenwan !! :)
(Hugs ? Waves ? Nothing ? ... I can't remember :-\)
Is it your place on these beautiful pics ? really nice... I went in Portugal on holidays, a couple of years ago... (in Porto). I really enjoyed it... :)
I hope you're having a nice day ?
Hi Owl (Mocho in Portuguese), good to see you. These were taken down in the south of Portugal, in the Algarve - walking along that boardwalk at the edge of the cliffs is a daily ritual and a daily source of joy. :-)

Zenhugs are always good, waves too - waves always make me think of the sea, I'm fixated on water. ;-)

toxicTom: Belated thanks for the heads up! :-)

Drowning in work here... no time to follow the thread :-(
You're very welcome, sorry that you're so swamped. Hope that Crow's coffee and lifejacket helped.

Here's one link I found, but there are many. Depends on your OS etc.

I must go, no time to search for the other posts I was trying to answer. Wish that GOG would fix the search feature and the 'reply notification' feature and a whole lot of other stuff...

@adaliabooks - glad you liked the photos, I'll post more from time to time, it cheers me up. :-)

@gunsynd - and anyone in NSW, Australia - thinking of you and hoping you're ok. Those floods are scary.

Take care, everyone, have a good day / night.

Good morning.

I try to be. Doesn't always work out that way. But regardless of that, I appreciate the offer very much. =)

A few hours here, an hour or so there, it all works out.

Thank you for the info regarding an alternative downloader. Getting the feeling that such a thing will prove to be invaluable when the bugs start hitting in large amounts.

I'd ask how you're doing today, but you said a few minutes ago that you have to go, so I'll wish you a good day instead. =)

Reply wave to you nice gog gamers of the conversational free for all thread, thanks for cheering me up the other day.

"If your ever feeling down and out, all you need is the Cat Bureau."

Not sure exactly why I quoted that. Maybe because it's a quote that should be remembered more often.

And here is a picture of the Cat Bureau incase anyone is wondering where you can hire the little detective cat to solve your problems.
