ZenWan: It's very beautiful indeed - as long as you are there early in the morning. Crowds tend to spoil it for me, not to mention the heat. Winters are better, fewer people also. I have a particular affinity for water, I don't do well in hot, dry places, so I feel for you in that desert.

No chance of using some of your game money to get a small portable aircon unit? It will cost you more in the long run if your computer gives up, and it must struggle in the heat. I have a similar problem.

I'm often awake in the middle of the night, although i go to bed early. I just lie there worrying, I have a higher degree in worrying and I'm an expert at it. ;-) I'm always happy when fatigue puts a stop to that for a while. Maybe you should force yourself to go to bed when you feel like this, just as an experiment? Not that I'm able to give advice on this problem!
Crowds almost always do. The larger they get, the more probability will work against you, until you end up with some creature that will do their best to ruin the experience.

Was just looking at a supplemental cooler for the hardware. If I roast, it's my own silly masochism for sitting in a space that's guaranteed to cause me half a heat stroke. The gear's more valuable.

I know that feeling. The mental buzzing from point to point doesn't stop.

Unfortunately, that would lead to me being asleep most of the time. -laughs-
The way seems to be distraction, at least for the time being. Granted, that leads to a feeling like that of playing Twister while the house burns down around you, screaming about which hand or foot is supposed to go where long after everyone else has run for their lives, but it's what I've got.

ZenWan: Moin, ElT, always good to see you. Glad you're doing well, you always seem like such a cheerful person, even when things aren't going well for you. You are a very uplifting presence in the forum. :-)
avatar
ElTerprise: Thank you *blush*. I just try to be an optimistic person :).
You're most welcome.
You certainly do a good job of that, I think most people are happy to see you when you come in, smiling and waving. :-)

I must get moving, time to walk and breath some fresh air and restore my soul with that incredible view..

Have a good day, evening, everyone - and Crow, please try to sleep!

ElTerprise: Moin (to avoid further confusion whether it's morning or evening ^^) everyone *hugs and waves*

I'm good this morning - are you all doing good?
Good morning. =)

Can't complain here overall, glad to hear your day's going pleasantly.

No worries, that will happen eventually. It's unavoidable.

Have a good day. =)

Laughing! - of course you don't matter, only the hardware does. But you'd feel better if you cooled yourself a little as well. Alternative is to sit covered in wet towels, which doesn't seem an attractive proposition. ;-)

Definitely ADD, I need that distraction myself, especially when stress threatens to overwhelm me. Head for the computer, play a game, preferably one that doesn't require thinking, just to stop the buzzing.

Sleeping wouldn't hurt, you seem to be very short of that. Hope you get some sleep now, my computer has just switched from night to day mode (Flux), so I know it's time for me to go.

Waving.....

That's good to hear :).

BTW: Site's still a bit wonky for me....

Same here. The page doesn't want to load fully, it has to be refreshed repeatedly until it decides to work properly.
If I don't do that, it shows any reply I try to make as a 404 error.

Exactly. And using Barefoot Essentials makes it even wonkier at times... it's really annoying. Would be interesting to what's causing it...

Figuring that it's a bug generated by GOG working on something. Pretty much every part of the site is being woven into Galaxy, so problems are going to be inevitable.
Definitely looking forward to some updates, hopefully they'll help with site stability.

But i think Galaxy will still take some time to kick off so we'll probably have to deal with these issues for some time...

Yeah...it's going to take a while before they have it up and running at a level where customers won't be burying Support with reports about various issues.
Thinking six months at the very least.

Sounds reasonable...
But didn't they also work on a new user system which should end the constant limbo of Fallout?

That's supposed to be in the works right now. When that will get here is anyone's guess, though.

Getting the feeling that the web team are pulling their hair out on a daily basis with everything that needs to be fixed, worked on or upgraded.
Good morning!
*hugs and waves*

Another office day, and damn, I'm tired. The little one suddenly started crying in her sleep - why, I have no idea. My wife and me took turns holding her hand (instant calmness...), but as soon as one left it started again. This went on from 11:30 pm to 1:30 am... And alarm rang 5:30...

Very much so. The "what did just break"-thread gives a good insight on the problems the site and the forums have...
But the web team are humans too so unfortunately no magic ;)
