CarrionCrow: Good evening. =)

Will keep fingers crossed that what's happening will improve, and do so quickly.
avatar
EndreWhiteMane: Hiya Crow, I'm doing just fine, I didn't want DD to have to handle too many 'goods' in one day. :-)
Sounds like life is going easy on you at the moment too, that's a good thing for a Sunday.
Broke down and bought Anodyne, looked at a few times before, and well, you know, it's a sale. :-)
-laughs- That works. Much happier hearing that your day's going well. =)

Yeah, things are quiet here at the moment. Trying to get the stupid need to sleep out of my system, backlogs don't get cleared while I'm slumped over in a chair crashed out.

That's actually one I don't have yet. Would be interested in hearing your thoughts on it as you go through.
In return, I can let you know how Faces of War is, since you were generous enough to pass it to me. =)
avatar
l0rdtr3k: I'll ask my brother.
I thought your brother was with the forces of Chaos?

avatar
EndreWhiteMane: Flu's pretty much over and I'm feeling much better.
Wearing a knee brace cause my 'trick' right knee went away but that passes in time too. :-)
I am glad to hear you are feeling much better, and hopefully you have seen the last of the flu for a while.

Sorry to hear about your knee, did mowing the lawn cause it to appear again, or is it just something that comes and goes randomly?

Poor ole knee is just worn out, so it comes and goes.
Either it gets better on it's own or I go let 'em pump some Cortisone into it. ;)
avatar
CarrionCrow: Sorry, dozed off again.

I started watching American Horror Story yesterday. Almost done with the first season, it's turning out to be a good show.
From what I've heard about it, it's more of an anthology series, so I won't end up with the "holy crap, this show is seven seasons, it's dragging so badly I just want it to end" problem I had with the last show I watched fully.
avatar
ddickinson: No need to be sorry, I figured you had dozed off, or had some real life stuff to do, or maybe were just having fun playing a game. How are you getting on with Pillars?

That is the advantage of anthology shows, it also means that you don't really have to worry about missing an episode, not that that is really an issue with Netflix.
I'm liking it a lot, it's just a really big game, so I'm gradually getting into it.
Probably isn't helping that since there's been so much conversation about Icewind Dale that I installed the game again and made a party for a refresher playthrough. It's been years since I last beat that game.

RPG's...not sure if there's any other GOG genre I have more of. So easy to get distracted.
Baldur's Gate 1 and 2, Icewind 1 and 2, Planescape, Neverwinter, KOTOR, those all deserve repeat runs.
Then there are the ones I haven't even cleared before like Neverwinter 2, Jade Empire, KOTOR 2, Grimrock 1 and 2, Gothic 1-3...
Lots of good stuff, and every single one is going to be a long run.

It looks like the story changes after every season. Seems to be a popular form of storytelling right now, between that show, Fargo, True Detective.

Netflix definitely helps, there's enough stuff on my list there that it'd probably cost me several hundred dollars to buy it all, if not more.

It's all that time you spend chasing after those pretty nurses. :-)

I hope it will feel better soon.

It's good that you are really enjoying the game. It would have been unfortunate if after paying the high price for the game it turned out to be a let down, like many seem to be see days.

The length of some of the RPG games are a factor that puts me off playing some of them at the moment. I do not have the time to really get involved in the game, so I have been sticking to shorter, less involving games for now.

I must admit, I have not heard of any of the tv shows you mentioned, but that's not very surprising, as I do not really follow tv and movies anymore. But I am glad that you are finding lots of nice things to watch. From what I have heard, Netflix is a bit disappointing here in the UK, with only a fraction of the content the US has.

If it turned out that way, I'd clear it, then never buy anything from them again.
(Like Bethesda, or Blizzard...)

It's a pro and a con. If you have the time, they can be great. If you don't, then you'll be dashing through and not get the whole experience.

That's okay. Other than things I see on a few places online, I'm not exactly up to date.
I've heard that also, that other countries don't get as much of a selection. A giant web of licensing problems, presumably.

I think it's due to licensing for the US shows, but also a lack of interest from Netflix to get shows from the local country (such as British made shows in the UK, German made shows in Germany, etc.). They seem to just be interested in American shows mainly, which are not to everyone's tastes, especially people outside of the US (not that many US shows are not incredibly popular internationally).

Not surprising there. Seems like there'd be a level of convenience in getting what content they could from the U.S.
What doesn't come from that point are the shows of international popularity like Luther, Sherlock and Doctor Who from the U.K. Anything else just isn't picked up, apparently.

*big slimmy hug* Today I also found the Predator trilogy Blu Ray set for only 25 Reais! I'm so happy about it since Predator is one of my favourite action\sci-fi series off all time.
Well I need to get some sleep, another busy week ahead of me this week.

Goodnight, everyone! I hope you enjoy what is left of your evenings.

*goodnight hugs and silly waves*

That's true. But I am sure someone told me we do not even get many of the BBC shows here that you get on the US Netflix, even thought they were made in the UK. But that is all to do with the BBC's commercial arm and I guess Netflix is willing to pay for the US market to have them but not the UK. But don't get me started on the whole BBC commercial arm. I am keen for the day when the politically corrupt BBC is finally stripped of it's licence fee, mainly due to it breaching the royal charter which grants it the licence. But I won't go into that, especially as I am quite tired.

I hope you have a nice evening, and try not to fall asleep at the computer. That poor bed of yours must be so lonely never getting to see you. :-)

I did not even know the Predator movies were a trilogy.

Goodnight, little blob. I hope you have a good night.

Corruption and money. Why am I not surprised.

The bed's used to it, trust me. If nothing else, it gets plenty of cats for company. ;)

Have a good night, sleep well. =)
May the 4th is only a couple weeks away.

Given how recently a bunch of those came out, I'd be incredibly surprised if GOG did a huge sale on all Star Wars items.
They might do one involving the early titles like they did for Insomnia, though.

Wave II was going on January 20-27. That was almost 3 months ago now. There's a slim chance that a sale on the newer releases may happen.... we can dream :)
