toxicTom: Hello everybody *hugs and waves*

Everyone ok? I sure hope so :-)

I spent the good part of the afternoon trying to get my disk version of Gothic to run - no success so far.
Moin. *hug*
I'm good.

Any idea why it refuses to run?
Screw it,filled my PC with games that I'll play for the next months. Need to clear my backlog and the only thing I'll want right now is some hugs.

F.E.A.R is being one of the best shooters I'm playing. Perhaps is one of my favourite horror games right now.

tinyE: Anyone want to see a metal Cthulhu?

No?

Cool, here it is then. :P
When I read that I immediately thought of Jack Black with a tentacle face.

Well starting the game GOTHIC.EXE*32 is shown as running in the task manager, but nothing else happens. I've tried various approaches that seemingly helped other people, but so far, no luck.
I restarted the computer, enabled DEP and excluded gothic.exe, set compatibility to Win XP SP2, run as Administrator... Result always the same. I tried patching my version 1.08j to 1.08k (caused problems in the past with copy protection), installed the PlayerKit... Always the same result.
Running out of ideas now...

FEAR is a very good shooter, no doubt. And it created a nice feeling of suspense in some places, though I never felt scared.

I started Extraction Point - is this by a different team? Somehow the level design seems a little inferior - playability wise.

That's odd....maybe firewall or antivirus blocking the start?

That sucks, I'd probably deal with that if it meant some rain though. been might dry 'round these parts. ;)
How's everyone's day going?
