Devo - Through Being Cool
I'm still very cool. ;)

ElTerprise: Good evening everyone *hugs and waves*

Back home - i hope you're all doing good!

And some cartoon concerning Yahtzee ;P.
Welcome back! :)

That cartoon is reminiscent of the search results I got back when trying to find the German translation
for the word Yahtzee that Moonshineshadow alluded to in an earlier post... :P
avatar
moonshineshadow: After finding out what the German name for Yahtzee is:
Yep, I also sometimes play Yahtzee :D Scrabble was never much my thing, almost never play it. I also often played a card game called "Doppelkopf", I could not find any translation for that, seems to be a German card game variation :-)
But there are also tons of other boardgames. My mum buys a new one every Christmas, so we have a lot of different ones that we can play when the family comes together :P
avatar
ElTerprise: Ah Doppelkopf - we played it in school during the breaks....but i was bad at it ;).

Yahtzee is nice. I play it with my family sometimes but i'm more into boardgames like Catan and especially Carcassonne recently :)
Ah I don't really play Catan anymore. We played that so often, I can't see it anymore :P
Carcasonne is really nice.

l0rdtr3k: When I say that I like board games, people tend to look at me funny. Never had much luck encountering board game enthusiasts.
And I hate when people look at me funny because of what I like.
I don't understand that. Boardgames are great :).

Yeah. I'll wait until i get the last expansion to play catan again....that's why i played carcassonne more often :).

HypersomniacLive: ... Glad to see that Endre continues to do better.

@GhostwriterDoF

I'll gladly take the nose wipes, but I don't like chicken soup, especially that instant stuff, yikes.
...
avatar
EndreWhiteMane: Hi Hyper, sorry to hear your in the market for 'nose wipes'. Called 'facial tissues' here. :-)
Cute doggie and yes I feel a little better. Think I'm on an uphill trend anyway.
Hope your cold/flu lasts just a short time.
Welcome back!

I made sure to get hand towels instead of facial tissues, because they are multi-purpose,
environmentally sound, and recyclable. Everything a healing Hypersomniac could want.

We'll all try to help you along that uphill trend as much as we can. :)

I the association never occurred to me until after reading through the search results.
So what do they call it in Germany?

*big hug* Okay i understand what you're talking about. I haven't had the luck yet to play these games but i really would like to....
and it's still not understandable why someone would have problem with it...
Good afternoon/evening, everyone.

Hopefully you're all doing well, or at least improving if you're not right now. =)

Hello. I'm fine - but i had a boooring lecture today -.-

How are you doing?
avatar
moonshineshadow: It is called Kniffel :D
*noms moon's ear* Hello again.
avatar
moonshineshadow: Good day :-) *wave*
So if you don't like chicken soup (of course real chicken soup freshly cooked not the instant one), what is your comfort food when you are not feeling well?
*waves back*

You know, I haven't really thought about it. My favourite soup is vegetable soup with veal, but if I have a stomach flu then I don't want to eat even that, so I guess it depends on why and how I'm not feeling well.

avatar
GhostwriterDoF: [...]

I know about the soup in boxes sounds weird, but it's not instant soup, it's boxed instead of canned, (like juices)!
Of course, once I saw boxed soups I had to try some... I have some tomato basil boxed soup too if that is
more to your liking...

<hands Hyper a case of nose wipes>
So, it's the pre-cooked sort that one heats up, yes? Doesn't sound much better, sorry. Soup must be made the moment it's needed with fresh ingredients.
Tomato basil sounds interesting, but I'd still prefer it freshly made.

*grabs the case of nose wipes*

Very happy for you, I'd say it was about time.

My condition is more or less the same for the past three days now, so it might take a while, but I sure hope your wishes will do the trick and speed things up.

"Facial tissues"... do I want to ask what other types you got, what they're used for, and who they're called?

I wouldn't count Warhammer, 40k and the likes as "board games", rather "table top", although the borders are certainly not very clear cut (think of the old HeroQuest or Castle Ravenloft).

Myself I'm an avid role player (pen and paper) and nothings beats this mix of imagination, story-telling, resource management and tactics. Fortunately my wife also loves it and we've even managed to infect my older daughter - we played with her (special tailored adventures on the last two New Year's Eves and she went on to talk about it for the whole of last year. We're going to make it a tradition, but also want to include her more often.
