moonshineshadow: Uno is a great game :D I am still playing that sometimes with my family.
avatar
GhostwriterDoF: I know I have a deck around here somewhere... I'll have to add that to my camping backpack
to take with me as one of the essentials. :)

Do you also play Yahtzee? You can create and print up your own sheets if you run out official ones,
and then all you need is the dice.

What about Scrabble? I imagine it comes in different languages, but there are some languages that it
might not translate well as a game, like traditional Chinese.
After finding out what the German name for Yahtzee is:
Yep, I also sometimes play Yahtzee :D Scrabble was never much my thing, almost never play it. I also often played a card game called "Doppelkopf", I could not find any translation for that, seems to be a German card game variation :-)
But there are also tons of other boardgames. My mum buys a new one every Christmas, so we have a lot of different ones that we can play when the family comes together :P

Well, when I print up my own sheets, I changed the name of the game to Yahboo (long before I became a Ghost)...

Yeah, I rarely ever win at scrabble, I'm much better at stringing words together than letters together to form words.

You get a new board game every Christmas? That sounds like a fine tradition!

I'm definitely going to find that Uno deck and take it with me next time I go camping though, maybe this weekend. It's better when you have four people to start out playing, and then work your way down to two to get a winner. We usually have at least three people when we go, (at a few dogs too). :D

Sounds like a good plan :-)

Good day, peeps. Hope you're all doing well, and enjoying the promo.

Glad to see that Endre continues to do better.

@GhostwriterDoF

I'll gladly take the nose wipes, but I don't like chicken soup, especially that instant stuff, yikes.

You need to get out of the cave more often, it sounds like it did you some good.

Good day :-) *wave*
So if you don't like chicken soup (of course real chicken soup freshly cooked not the instant one), what is your comfort food when you are not feeling well?

No, didn't change the rules, just the name of the game, and made better worksheets,
with larger boxes to write in.

You can fit two sheets on a 8.5 x 11 piece of paper, side by side in landscape,
using any word processer program and print it out of any standard printer.

I used the name Yahboo because I have a friend who liked to make cocktails and get drunk whilst
we played, and she would yell out Yahboo! when she won, instead of Yahtzee, so the name stuck. :D

Yes, I was glad to hear Endre was feeling better and eating solid foods again too...

I know about the soup in boxes sounds weird, but it's not instant soup, it's boxed instead of canned, (like juices)!
Of course, once I saw boxed soups I had to try some... I have some tomato basil boxed soup too if that is
more to your liking...

<hands Hyper a case of nose wipes>

Ah sorry seems like I did not make it clear, I meant the rules of Uno, since I know several different rule sets from different people I played it with :-)
Good evening everyone *hugs and waves*

Back home - i hope you're all doing good!

And some cartoon concerning Yahtzee ;P.

Hi Hyper, sorry to hear your in the market for 'nose wipes'. Called 'facial tissues' here. :-)
Cute doggie and yes I feel a little better. Think I'm on an uphill trend anyway.
Hope your cold/flu lasts just a short time.

Ah no, not that I can remember. Just played through tournaments with friends and neighbors,
starting with eight to ten people, 4 or 5 using their own deck, and work our way down to the last
two and finally a winner. Now I want to play Uno again... heh!

DD has a lot of work, I am sure she will show up later this evening. And owl has to do the training courses at work today so she can't be at the forum. So she will either show up later this evening or tomorrow :-)

Ah Doppelkopf - we played it in school during the breaks....but i was bad at it ;).

Yahtzee is nice. I play it with my family sometimes but i'm more into boardgames like Catan and especially Carcassonne recently :)
