Vnlr: for the record, I have a clean .NET 4.5.1 install and the game refuses to work, still stating "game requires .NET 3.5 or newer to...". I noticed these prerequisites are checked in an ini file. I could create a virtual disk image and mod it there, then use that virtual disc to install the game...I hope; but we'll see about that.
stg83: Before you do all of that try one more thing, go to
Turn Windows features on or off by following these steps:
1. From the start menu go to the
Control Panel, then click
Programs, and finally click
Turn Windows features on or off.
2. Then in the drop down box find the option
Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1, then the feature off by clearing the check box and Click OK.
3. After that restart your computer and then turn
Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 back on by select the check box next to it.
Finally try installing the game again and let us know if it works, hopefully this will resolve your problem. :)
the whole virtual disc thing didn't work anyway, same issue as before...
