Depends on the cat. My favorite cat here is only an asshole to her children. Can't blame her there, kids aren't great.

Same here (usually like larger dogs - one in particular LOL) but something about those pointly little ears, bug eyes and oversized head really gets me.

While I've never owned one I also get a kick out of schipperkes. I'm starting to see a pattern here in the small dogs I like - dark / black coats, buggy eyes...

And j0ekerr baseball on the radio is great! Nothing like a nice weekend afternoon sitting outside, sipping a beer or working in the yard and listening to a game on the radio. We don't get many radio dramas here (at least not that I've found on my AM/FM - haven't checked into digital radio in a bit) aside from once in a great while for a special event.

You know what got me more into baseball as a young teen, after I lost interest for a few years? Deep Space Nine and Captain Sisko's obsession with the game. Fun stuff.

I'm back allready, I need some help with dungeon mastering for an upcoming session of our tabletop rpg...

we play with a lovely rpg mechanism made for game of thrones, but we play in Tolkien's middle earth arround the time just before the Hobbit.

The players are: a Rivendell noble with shiny armor and insane archery skills, and an affinity for surplus (a real glass cannon), a swordmaster (witcher-level) of ancient numenorean descent, and lastly a tanky minor wizard with a few meatgrinding spells and a huge claymore and armor to match.

They headed up north towards Gundabad/ Ettenmoors/ Angmar, in search for xp and fancy quests, as well as cranking up their reputation in Eriador and Arnor.

So, I was thinking as a starting point;

they spot from far away a set of bastions and towers. It is in fact an Angmar fort of old. It is built on two mountaintops and connected by a bridge.

On one mountain, the fortress is built into the mouintainside. That's were food storage, soldier's quarters and living space are (mainly occupied by orcs, but I was hoping to sneak some tougher critters/ corrupt beings in...suggestions?).

The fortress on the other side is built over the caldera of an old fire-mountain (volcano). It is basicly a huge forge which draws metals from the active crater, which is kept stable by the magics from a mighty artifact inside one of the forts.

The players should sneak in, disable the artifact and sabotage the forge; all that results in a nice mountainslide/ volcanic eruption which wipes the forge and a large swathe of the mountainfortress away.

the players can then get away by summoning the giant eagles through the wizard, and those could if needed fly them to the top of the largely devastated fortress, so that they can have a boss encounter with the local orc Nob/ some evil spirit/wight/lich minion lieutenant of the witch king of old.

Before you do all of that try one more thing, go to Turn Windows features on or off by following these steps:

1. From the start menu go to the Control Panel, then click Programs, and click on Turn Windows features on or off.

2. Then in the drop down box find the option Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1, then turn it OFF by clearing the check box and Click OK.

3. After that restart your computer and then turn Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 back ON by selecting the check box next to it.

Finally try installing the game again and let us know if it works, hopefully this will resolve your problem. :)

What game isn't running because of this?

Last year I did a Windows update, it had a video driver update as part of the optional ones. Well, it failed during the install process, and caused some issues. One thing that happened was t fouled up the Net Framework files, so even though it showed as being installed, it wasn’t working. I had to uninstall and reinstall to get it to function again.

This post makes me want to play Battle for Middle Earth 2... :P

Okay...a mindbogglingly big amount of thanks and praise for stg83...IT WORKED (+1)

The game in question is Armada 2526. It's a slightly older 4x game; not well known and not generaly well recieved as far as I know, but still fun enough to play.

Battle for Middle earth II doesn't even come close; the players have had a battle in which they defended a town with naught but a large tall palisade and a mob of peasant archers against a 6x as large mob of marauding goblins.

the goblins narrowly made it to the walls, and there were ferociously repelled. they never made it over the top of the palisade.

result: 23/1 kill/death ratio for the defenders and much glory points. Of course the braggy elf prince immediately sent a written after-action report to both rivendell and Minas tirith.

The fields surrounding the town were covered with arrow-clad goblins...

that was a glorious session... :)
