Some of them are overpriced...but at least the german versions are - in my experience - usually really good which makes it even worse that the Dark Eye games still lacking the german language.

And i'm not sure if they are telling the truth, when they are claiming that it is due to licencing and publishing rights of these games (which are owned by Deep Silver).

The games are good themselves, but I find it poor that they charge so much and yet still use poor English voice acting, especially as I would think the English version would be the biggest seller. I understand that international releases is kind of new for many German developers and publishers, but it's not as though Daedalic are a small company without the resources to do better.

I may be right about them not being truthful, it is probably some exclusive deal they have with Steam, or maybe German sales are so small (compared to international sales) that they decided it was not worth the effort, who knows.

I imagine it would be a very rewarding job, even if it must be hard at times. I hope things go well for tonight and tomorrow when you are at work.

I would bet on that Steam deal or something along those lines. IIRC there was no drm-free version of Satinav at launch. Atleast there was no mention of it at first...

It is a shame really how they operate, as their games have some beautiful artwork, fun gameplay, and some nice storylines. I think I own all but three of their point-and-click adventure games on here.

It is. I'm generally not so much into point-and-click adventures but i got Deponia as a freebie here and i really liked it. (But we still need the Complete Journey on GOG...)

Let's hope they'll change their behaviour towards GOG in the future...although i'm not very optimistic about it...

I love point-and_click games, and I love their mix of 3D with 2D. I am not overly keen on 3D point-and-click games, so their mix of 3D and 2D is something I enjoy, that an those lovely pre-rendered backgrounds.

I very much doubt they would change their behaviour, especially after all this time. They seem like just another greedy company who treat their customers poorly. That is the way of games companies these days, after all. :-)

I blame those darn kids! If they had voted with their wallets instead of throwing money at things like DRM, poor DLCs, micro-transactions, and poor company behaviour, then we would still have a nice gaming industry.

I think I should have put a disclaimer that I was not trying to insult anyone who uses Steam or anything like that.

But I am correct, if gamers had decided to not support these companies and their bad practices, then we wouldn't have them now. Just imagine if the first few games with DRM did not sell at all. Those companies would have stopped using DRM. But because people continued to buy the games, the companies continued to use it, and just kept getting worse. But no matter how bad they got, people kept throwing money at them. Gaming is one of the only industries where the majority of customers seem to gladly and mindlessly adapt to the companies way or doing things, rather than companies having to adapt to their customers wants and needs.

Surly you jest? Everyone knows American politicians are the very image of fairness and justice. Are you trying to imply they would do something so underhanded? Why I have never heard of such things when it comes to politicians, they are such trustworthy people. :-)
