CarrionCrow: Don't blame you a bit for being annoyed with that. Didn't know Ubi was selling Origins here for twice the price of a rental (my term for all DRM-packed items from the competition), but honestly, it doesn't surprise me.
Not really a fan of theirs, to the point that I won't buy Blood Dragon, a game I really want to play, because I don't want to support their current games.
'Rental' is good :D
I've become quite used to steam as they usually don't disturb me; I can always switch them to offline mode and they will probably be around for some more years. But I usually distrust publisher's always-on DRM - they might just tell me "Friend! You've had 14 months to play your game. We think it's time for you to move to a new game." (Yes, I'm talking about you, 2K!)

PalioDeMonte: Aaargh, wrong answer ;) I was trying to stop myself from buying more games. But if we're talking about less than $3 it doesn't really matter if it's 75 or 60 %. I think, I'll give it a try.

What really annoys me about Rayman are two things. First: The base price is nearly the double of the steam price. I want it here, I want it DRM-free and I would even consider buying it for full price if it were the same as at steam - about $10. Second: I saw it yesterday at the start of the sale for 75%, but didn't have the time to grab it. An hour later they had adjusted the price. So it's weird, i might have paid even $10 for it, but now I wait until I get it for $5 just because I'm pissed ;)

ZenWan: Good day Palio (I keep wanting to say buon giorno to you, your name sounds Italian) - and Crow, and anyone else reading this

That's pretty bad policy, to change the price of a promo item in mid-promo. Did you complain about it to Support? I bet others have posted about it somewhere, but I suppose it won't have any effect. It's wrong all the same.

There's this thread, although it's more to do with regional pricing, but you could post there?

ZenWan: Glad your shift is over at last, that was a tough one, but at least you made it through! Sleep well.
Good morning. =)

Bugs happen with prices sometimes. Happened once during an Insomnia sale, the checkout glitched on a game, a bunch of people ended up getting it for free, then it got pulled from later rotations to make up for the loss of income.

The online thing isn't an issue, but I'm never thrilled with the idea of "well, if your net goes down for any reason, you might not get to play what you paid for if our offline mode craps out".
Slowly chewing through what rentals I have, not accumulating a backlog mountain with them like I am with GOG, and very few items will make me buy from there. Offhand, I can think of less than 10.

It was meant to :) - I wanted an italian sounding name for my Mesmer in Guild Wars - their appearence was somehow reminding me of italian renaissance style. And Palio sounds cool, although it doesn't make sense as italian first name. It's actually the famous historic horse race in Siena :D

Ah, I see. Yes, I knew about the race and the name, I've been to Siena several times, it's one of my favourite places in the world. I think I was Italian in my last life. :-D
Wow...half hour later, and the icon has finally stopped spinning so I can post again. (Hopefully.)

Thank you. At first I thought it was my internet in general, but apparently it's the GOG forums specifically.
Other sites load, the front page of GOG loads, but it won't fully refresh the forums when I try to do so.
*good morning hugs and waves*

I saw that Guild Wars was mentioned again, really interesting to realise how many people played it :-)

Good morning *hugs*

I entered quite late, in 2009 or 2010. It was the game that ended my gaming hiatus after about 5 years. Guild Wars 2 was the game that really turned me into an addict again. Cost me more than 1000 hours before I took a break in January :D

So a break until the new part is released? :D
[edit] And I won't tell you my number of hours, I just checked and let me say it falls in the category of "too much" ;-)

How's the start of your weekend going?

I had a similar problem - GoGo logged me out, and the login box just spun around and around and around...

I went off to do other things, so not sure how long it took before I finally got back in again.

Good morning, Moon. Hope your weather is good and sunny. :-)

I've heard a lot about that game, but never played it. Was it ever available at GoG?

EndreWhiteMane: Just had a delicious supper consisting of 6 saltine crackers.
Off to bed now to see if i can keep them down. :/
See ya tomorrow.
Hi Endre, hope you are feeling better when you wake up.

As I mentioned to Crow when he was ill, the very best thing for nausea of any kind is ginger. Fresh or powdered, whatever you can get. If you get the powdered one, which is usually easy to find, make ginger tea, with a spoon of ginger, a splash of lemon and some honey. That should fix you!

Editing to say that I just looked up Guild Wars, and it's a multiplayer game. Not for me, I prefer to play quietly in my solitary corner.

Morning all!

Haven't been spending much time here at the moment due to being busy with work and a little addicted to ToME.

That being said I'll be busy most of today too catering for a wedding (*gulp* bit nervous as we've never done one before.. but we made loads of lovely platters of anti pasti and salad yesterday so it's mostly just making the pizzas today)

How are you all?

Sorry to hear that. It's a colossal pain.
Optimism versus pessimism, hoping that GOG's working on fixing some things while simultaneously thinking it's quite possibly another broken chunk of the site.
