I don't mind at all, he gifted me Populous.I've only ever played Populous The Beginning so it will be a new one for me :)

Tom has ninja gifted me Pirates!Plus.+1 him please.

Because Populous (the original) is way more cooler. And Populous 2 is even godslike (no wonder), but I'll leave that one for a later time since "going back" from 2 to one is pretty hard from my experience (although I love both).

Well, loaded it up, just cleared a bit of it.

It's an interesting game. You don't jump, your form of bypassing obstacles is reversing gravity. Makes platforming a bit different, process-wise.

There's also an exploration aspect to it, since once you've done with the opening section, the world becomes available and you need to check it all out to find missing people (the objective of the game's story).

Would say it's worth 2 dollars.

I see tackling the room of Chaos has put you in a jolly gifting mood. Or maybe you have had too much to drink while celebrating your victory of the dark powers. :-)

It would have to be pretty great to be better than The Beginning, I adored that game when it came out. Nothing quite like raising volcanoes in the middle of your enemies or terraforming the planet.

You can do that in the original Populous. And create swamps. And just raise the sea level (be sure to have your folks have built their settlements a little higher). The real sadistic awesomeness starts with Populous 2, but I really recommend playing the first, well first.
